It's midway through the week of tough drills and workout schedules when Aizawa makes the announcement that the heros are free for the evening to go into town and have a night off to do as they please.
No one is more happy about that than Ethan who definitely has felt the effects of Aizawa's hell week. To say he's annoyed and reaching his limit is an understatement.
As he gets ready to go out for the evening his mind twist with tension in his jaw. It's true that he never had intention of keeping Izuku very long. The green eyed hero was a way to boost his own staus in the hero world along with gain the perks, but once Katsuki came home and tried to gain him back it became more complicated and now he sees this as merely a challenge.
His eyes narrow in the mirror as he thinks about Izuku's reaction to him a couple mornings ago when the greenett had told him that he should move on from him and since that day Izuku's friends have been like relentless gaurd dogs, making sure not to give him a moment alone with him.
He knows one thing for sure. He's not accepting that half ass attempt by the greenett to break things off. As far as he's concerned him and Izuku are still a couple and if that makes the greenett miserable then so be it. He has no intentions of losing to Katsuki Bakugo, no matter what tricks he has to play to keep it that way.
The whole thing is quite infuriating, he thinks. If Katsuki had never come home he'd still have Izuku worn down and stuck in place, but ever since that blonde nuisances return things have been slowly but surely unraveling. The greenett is even back surrounded by the friends that he had been somewhat isolated from without hardly being detected.
His eye begins to twitch with aggravation and frustration. To think he's been wearing this god forsaken good guy mask for months, trying to push his way into Izuku's good graces so that he can reap the benefits of being with the number one. His nose wrinkles in disgust thinking of what a waste that number one title is on Izuku who doesn't seem to care a thing about the advantages that title brings.
Vindictive eyes shift to the mirror while a hint of a smile forms. No this won't do at all so he'll do what he can to flip things in his favor, no matter what that means or what it takes.
Not long later the heros are boarding the bus that will take them into town for the night.
Izuku is busy getting situated in his seat when he feels a thump in the one next to him. He smiles assuming it's Shoto but that smile fades when he realizes it's not his best friend but it is Ethan.
A cold smile makes it's way to Dash as he greets shocked green eyes.
"You look disappointed. I'm afraid your rescue party was delayed today, so you'll be stuck with me."
Just then Shoto, Kirishima, Sero and Bakugo push quickly onto the bus with looks of scowls and tension.
Izuku meets Shoto's intense eyes not knowing what's happening as his best friend stands by the seat.
" Sorry we're a bit late Midoriya, it's a good thing you left the bunkhouse when you did since something happened to the door and we got locked inside.", he says as a knowing look gets fixed on Dash.
Kirishima is right behind Shoto with a look of anger in normally soft red eyes.
" Yeah man, was pretty weird considering it had been fine all day till it was time for us to leave."
" You wouldn't know anything about it would you Dash?", Sero questions with a tension filled expression.
Ethan looks between the angry heros with a shrug.
