Anupama and Anuj left the orphanage with heavy hearts. Both were absolutely silent, absorbing the emotions they had felt in the last two hours. Every time they tried to steal a glance, they found the other already looking at them.

The evening was calm, but Anuj's heart was not. A chaos was surging within him with every passing second. His feelings for Anupama were overpowering his rationale. He was losing his composure; the boundary wall was collapsing. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel: Abhi ghar pe chodd dunga, toh subah hi mil paunga. Dil kar raha hai rok lu aur kahin jaane na du. Kuch toh kijiye Kanha ji..

Anupama, who was looking outside at the fast-moving objects: Kitna dard dil mein daba ke bethe hai, aur upar se haste rehte hai, sabka khyaal rakhte hai. Ab bhi ghar jaake purani baatein hi yaad karte rahenge...per batayenge nahi..kaka bhi ghar per nahi hai...Devika se kahu..nahi dost toh main bhi hun na...

Suddenly, she turned in her seat: Anuj chaiiiiii ki tapri

Anuj was almost caught off guard: Sorry what.. He looked at Anupama: Come again please..kis ka chappri..

Anupama tched and murmured: Arrey wo chai ki tapri thi..... Then suddenly her body language turned stringent, realising Anuj's status.

He took a U-turn instantly. Anupama added hesitantly : Aapko kuch kaam toh nahi hai.

He shook his head: Tumhari chai se zyada zaruri... nahhhhhh..

A blush crept on her cheeks. She shyly held her nose and looked down. Anuj felt like drowning in the moment. He so wanted to pull her cheeks. He grinned.

They awkwardly sat at the tapri table, looking here and there. Anupama peeked through her hooded eyes: Aapka kuch aur plan toh nahi tha..

An innocent smile played on his lips: Nahi toh... bataya tha na tumse zyada zaruri kuch nahi hai.. I mean tum meri dost ho.. aur wo—

Just then, a few children came running: Sir phool le lo.

Anuj looked up at Kanha ji, silently thanking him for his timing. He started choosing the perfect rose when another kid rushed there: Sir mujhse le lijiye.. mere wale zyada ache hain..

Anuj looked at the small kid when another one ran up: Mujhse le lijiye.. mere wale usse bhi ache hai.

Anuj looked at the kids lovingly and patted his head: Ok okay, tum log bolo kis se lu..

Children added in chorus: Hum sab se!

Anuj chuckled: Acha, kitne lu..

A kid smiled and added mischievously: Jitni aapko madam sundar lag rahi hai utne le lijiye..

Anuj looked at Anupama from the corner of his eye. He could feel his heart drumming in his ears. Anupama chuckled, caressing the kid's cheek lovingly: Aajo dekhiye kitne saitan hai ye sab..

Anuj thought for a second: Do one thing, aas paas bhi koi agar phool bech raha hai tumhara dost usse bhi bula lo..

The kids chuckled merrily. Soon, Anupama was holding a whole bunch of roses. Anuj gave money to all the kids, who rushed away happily.

Anupama looked at him for a second and then looked down, not knowing how to handle this foreign feeling.

The song on the tapri radio changed: Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga, jaise khilta...
