You cannot fix what is broken

Chapter 2

Naruto knows that Kakashi was nearby all thanks to Kurama, the all mighty nine tailed fox sealed in him, for telling him that information. Naruto had knew about the kyuubi way before Mizuki had screamed it in his face. He had meet his tenant by accident once when he was on the brink of death.
At first there was some intimidating on Kurama's part but Naruto didn't even react, he just sunk to his knees with his head hung low. This made Kurama stop all his mighty speech about how powerful he is. It had made him furious about how bad the abuse has gotten to the extent that Naruto just takes them all without fighting back. Kurama had asked Naruto what was wrong as the fox reached a tail over in hopes of comforting the kid. All he got was a look of confusion from the kid. That look said it all. Naruto thinks he doesn't deserve it. He thinks he doesn't deserve any sort of kindness, whether it be from an animal or from a human. Kurama had received the shock of his life when the kid had asked him why he hated the boy and remember, Kurama is a thousand years old Lord of the demons. He isn't easily shocked nor does he feel sympathetic nor sad nor guilt. This time he was feeling all sorts of emotions, all at the same time! Naruto was broken and he knew it. Naruto was drowning but he was willing to be drowned as long as his comrades can stay alive. Naruto wouldn't go so far as to calling them friends, it was more of like an acquaintance. Naruto knew a lot about each individual while no one really knew anything about him except for his name. They always ignored him. Every time he looked at them as a silent call for help, they always just stood there and stared on. Kurama had been able to live comfortably when that first time he meet Naruto, and the kid was literally such a mother hen after they got to know each other.
Naruto was having a conversation with Kurama as he subconsciously watched his teammates eat. Naruto was used to not eating. He has gone so malnourished, it wasn't even funny anymore. He was skinnier than those freaky girls that goes on diets just to get their precious Uchihas' attention. The heart throb of the Uchiha family is both heirs, Itachi Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha.
Itachi Uchiha is one of Naruto's true friend aside from Kurama, someone who was silently protecting him even though Naruto begged him not to, in fear that someone would kill Itachi just to get to him. Itachi couldn't comprehend why a kid was so broken but is still so insistent on being fine so day by day, Itachi had started to believe a little that he is actually fine. Naruto was sad that Itachi wasn't persistent but it was for the best that the demon doesn't burden anyone, especially the youngest and best anbu captain, the Uchiha prodigy and genius.
You have to eat something kit. Kurama said gently.
It's okay Kurama-San. Naruto replied quietly, the complete opposite of his mask. Naruto had at first called him -sama but Kurama tried his hardest to get the boy to stop it and finally they got to a stage where Naruto would refer to him with a suffix because it was drilled into him that every living being was better than him, even the animals. If I get out, I'll kill them villagers! This village better prepare for its dooms day! Kurama boomed angrily to himself as Naruto returned to his conscious body.
Sasuke looked over at Naruto, stoic. Even though the Uchiha wouldn't show it, he was very concerned about the small boy. There was a time where he suddenly exploded when with his nii-san. He had asked why Naruto so small and Itachi had explained as much as he could without revealing anything about Naruto to Sasuke. He wants the boy to get to know Naruto instead of knowing him from outside informations.
When Naruto, his somewhat best friend and rival, blinked once and looked at Sasuke. Sasuke knew, Sasuke knew he had a plan. Sasuke wouldn't admit it but he thinks the boy's intelligence can compare to that of a Nara. He is just confused as to why the boy wouldn't show it. Sasuke knows that Naruto is smart, for gods sake Naruto!
Sasuke without a warning to the boy shoved food into the small blond's mouth. Naruto's eyes widened in surprise, he hadn't expect Sasuke to do that nor was he thinking that Sasuke knew he got a plan. Oh well, change of plans, Sasuke's style.
"YOU! You broke the rules!" Kakashi boomed as he suddenly appeared. Sasuke and Sakura flinched while Naruto pretended to panic. He was scared but he wouldn't dare to pretend he wasn't in fear that someone would beat him up.
"I- I, he fed me because we're a team!" Naruto shouted at Kakashi before Sakura could say anything, just in case she jeopardises the plan. "Naruto's right." Sasuke said, catching on quickly. "If he is hungry, we would cost our team dearly." Sasuke dead panned, gaining courage from his best friend and feeling less scared of the jounin in front of them that was glaring at them.
"Is that so?" Kakashi asked as he looked at the three genins, then he smiled. "You guys passed." After a small pause for the genins register what he just said, they all cheered. Only if Kakashi had noticed. If only Sakura hadn't drag their sensei away with Sasuke so quickly, he would have noticed. He would have seen that Naruto wasn't actually happy.
"Hey! Untie me!" Naruto screamed at his retreating team who has completely forgotten about him. A few villagers had heard some disturbance so they came to check it out. Their worried expression became a grin immediately as they came upon seeing the demon brat tied up. "Someone has finally gave us a gift!" The villagers grinned and approached quickly. Before Naruto had time to do anything, his mind registered a sharp pain to his abdomen where a kunai was plunged into him and a upper cut was delivered to his jaw. The blows rained down on him relentlessly. If I'm dead, everyone would be happy... Itachi-san would not need to waste his time worrying about a demon like me. Naruto thought weakly as he was about to lose consciousness. Naruto's hands suddenly moved and it broke the restraints and Naruto fled.
What are you doing Kurama-san?
I'm saving your life! Kurama growled. You shouldn't be leading a life so badly. You shouldn't even be treated as the demon. You're to be hailed as a hero. Minato, you must be rolling in your grave. Kushina, you too. Your village is such a disappointment.
