You cannot fix what is broken

Chapter 6

"Nii-San."
"Hm?" Itachi hummed to signal that he heard Sasuke calling him. Sasuke looked at Itachi as the two Uchiha perched on a tree outside Naruto's home, waiting for him to come home. The two uchihas have been doing this for almost a month already and so far, Naruto seemed normal. Maybe we're just overthinking...
"Do you... Think we are just overreacting? Naruto seems... Okay." Sasuke said hesitatingly. Itachi turned to looked at his otouto questioningly. Since when does Sasuke give up so easily?
"... Honestly, I don't know Sasuke." Itachi admitted quietly. Naruto entered his house and went straight to the window. He leaned on the window sill, looking outside to watch the little kids playing in the playground. He was never allowed to play with the others. The parents would always hit Naruto whenever their child runs up to ask Naruto to join them. The parents would then pull their child away or hit Naruto hard so that he flew to the ground, blood running down his chin or cheek from their hard impact or their jewellery that cut his face badly. They all told their child that he was a monster, a demon, any name that was meant to insult him. The children started growing to think he was bad and they did the shunning themselves the next time, their parents watching smugly in the background. Naruto never visit the playground when they were around ever again. He only visited it at the dead of night, the only time he was safe from the children. Naruto sighed and closed the window before retreating into his room. The Uchiha brothers stayed for a bit before finally leaving. Maybe they were just over paranoid.

"Baka! Stop insulting Sasuke-Kun! He will always be the best!" Sakura and Ino screeched, bonking Naruto over the head. The Uchihas have finally stopped perching on the tree each day in front of Naruto's house. They have decided they were just overreacting and Naruto might just be having some sort of PMS, he did look like a girl after all. It's been over a few months since the uchihas have stopped. Naruto seemed like he was back to normal.
Everyone cringed from the screeching voice. Kiba and Naruto especially, seeing as their hearing was better and more sensitive. "Shut the f* up, banshee! You shouldn't really go annoying them Dobe." Sasuke twitched at the nickname he used for Naruto. It was for him to use, not anyone else. Naruto bit his lips to keep his remarks to himself, making it look as if he was holding himself back but in fact, he has no wish to harm any of them. Why did we have to have a combine mission with Team 7 - team 10? This is so troublesome. Shikamaru groaned internally as he observed everyone lazily. This was a two week trip. Just a simple escort mission and at the same time they are to retrieve a classified scroll from their destination before heading back. Why does it need so many people?... Unless, Tsunade-sama wanted... Damn! She wants us to do those bonding activity. Shikamaru groaned again, this time out loud.
"Ne Shikamaru, why are you groaning?" Naruto asked, poking the lazy ninja.
"Go away Naruto." Said boy pouted but left the other alone. Shikamaru was surprise by the lack of shouting from the other boy, he peered at him curiously. Naruto had turned away and stepped swiftly towards a tree. They have been travelling for almost a day with their client and the sensei now declared that they should take a break. The fire crackled as Hinata added more wood to it. "Be careful Hinata-sama." Neji said. After the fight with Naruto during the chuunin exams, Naruto had changed Neji's thinking and now Neji lives to protect Hinata because she is family not because it is a duty.
Naruto even managed to save Gaara from himself and became Gaara's first real friend. Naruto have changed many people for the better. Neji eyed the blond he was thinking about. I wonder if anyone thanked him for saving them... Naruto was slumping against the tree, he seems to be asleep. The fire illuminated his beautiful angelic features, making him look so innocent yet... The boy's face held a shadow of a frown. What is he thinking about?
Naruto felt sad that everyone was ignoring him and asking him to go away. He slumped against the tree and shut his eyes.
Kit. Do not be upset. You still have me. Kurama's deep voice rumbled in his mind.
... Do you think anyone would miss me... If I died? Naruto thought to the nine tails demon. Kurama looked like he has just been slapped in the face, hard. Don't think like that. You wouldn't die. Kurama growled at his vessel.
But I have a bad feeling about our clients. They keep eying me. They keep licking their lips when they look at me, thinking I don't know. I feel really uncomfortable...
Inside the cage, Kurama growled in frustration. Dammit. They're after Naruto... Not for me no... I can smell their... Lust and arousal? Sh*t! The great nine tail fox cursed to himself.
