Jack December 12, 1963
My life is a good as over. You try running for office with a wayward wife.
"Thanks for letting me stay here Bobby," Bobby is letting me crash at his house until a find a place to stay
"Yeah and you owe me Ethel's not pleased with the way you treated Jackie, this one got me in the dog house." He told me walking out of the bedroom shutting the door.
I lay back with my head on the pillow. Everyone is upset with me for the way things went down but if I had it my way, she'd be here with me. Although over the past few years Jackie hasn't been much more than a cover story, I've always loved her and cared about here. I'm such an ass I don't blame here for leaving frankly I would too.
"Uncle Jack!" Kerry called busting open the door
"Yes dear?"
"Aunt Jackie is on the phone says she's looking to talk to you."
"Thank you!" I call as she shuts the door.
I take a deep breath and pick up the phone
"Hello?" I ask a little to excitedly
"Hi jack I really need to talk to you."
"Oh Jackie you sounded like Meredith." I says trying to play it off like I wasn't depressed that she was gone
"Meredith?" She asked a little hurt I felt so criminal
"Just some girl....what's up kid?"
"It's Jackie not kid." She stated coldly
"Uh sorry...habit? What's on your mind Jackie?"
"I think you deserve to know that I'm...."
I awaited the rest of her sentence but her end was silent
"Know what Jackie?"
"Well a few days before Dallas I found out that I'm a pregnant."
I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips.
"You're just now telling me this?"
"Well jack I haven't found a better time."
I roll the phone cord between my fingers
"Meet me somewhere?"
"If this is for publicity I'll kill you." She warns.
I chuckle "no no, I'll bring the kids too."
"Good....I miss them." She says less confident than before
"And they you." I assure her
"Where shall me meet then?" She asks after a brief silence
"I'm at Bobby's you can stop by I know Ethel's dying to talk to you." I told her
"Alright see you soon, Jack."
"Drive safe, I love you." I was immediately shocked i love you was such a habit it slipped out
"I'm probably not suppose to say that." I explain
"No jack its fine, see you soon." She proceeded to hang up
I'm excited to see the woman who has attempted to break my heart, although I was deserving of it.
