I started crying in the car. "Paige... That women doesn't know the full story." Josh glared the women as the car drove away. "Where are we going?" I asked. "I don't know. Not home." Josh answered. "I really screwed up didn't I?" I weeped to myself. "No... Paige, don't feel bad, if anyone should feel bad it should be Brooke and Mom." Josh reassured me. "But I-" I was cut off. "No! Paige it's not your fault!" Josh's voice turned into anger. "I..." I stopped. Josh didn't even hear me.

"Paige, I'm sorry." Josh sighed.

We drove in silence for a while. We pulled in front of a large house. It was 3 stories high. "Where are we?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "This is Cody's house. He's a close friend." Josh got out of the car. I got out. We knocked on the door. A boy with Brown hair and dark brown eyes opened the door. He had a yellow sweater that was slightly rolled up. He had some jeans on and black & white sneakers.

"Are you Paige? Hi, I'm Cody." Cody led Josh and I into the house. "Sorry, I didn't call. Paige is going through hard times and I took her out for a while." Josh truthfully told Cody. Josh explained the whole story to Cody. "That must suck. I'm glad I'm an only child." Cody joked. He seemed nice enough.

"Do you have anything to drink? I'm thirsty." Josh panted like a dog. "Yeah. I'll get some Pepsi. Paige, anything?" Cody met my eyes. I felt like he understood me. He looked so sympathetic. "Um, yeah, I'll have some Pepsi, too." I answered awkwardly. "Ok, I'll be back in a second." Cody ran into the kitchen. (We were in the living room BTW!) He came back with 3 cans of Pepsi.

"Wow, this is great!" Josh burped. "Eww!" I shrieked. I haven't been happy in a long time. It completely took my mind off Brooke & Mom. "Haha. What? Can't a take a little burp?" Josh burped on purpose. "Ugh. Cut it out." I groaned. "Nah. I'd rather not." Josh burped, again.

"Josh, geez, leave her alone." Cody sarcastically laughed. "C'mon, Codes!" Josh burped. "Ok, fine." Cody burped. "Ewww! Are all of your friends like this?" I snickered. "You mean disgusting, burping freaks. In that case, yes." Josh smirked. "Josh is friends with all the burpers in school." Cody laughed. "Burpers? That's a thing?" I thought they were kidding.

"Um, duh! All the burpers are really close with me." Josh laughed. "I don't know why I'm surprised." I giggled. "C'mon, Paige! You can do it, too!" Cody chimed in. I liked having the thought of being able to do something, even if it was burping. I burped a long burp. "Woah, Paige!" Josh laughed. "What?" I asked jokingly. "I don't know why I'm surprised." Josh nodded his head. "Well, that was surprising." Cody laughed.

I felt so good. I had made a new friend, Cody. He didn't act like I was a dancing disappointment. He didn't even care that Brooke was mad at me! He was even sympathetic!

Once, all the giggles and laughs were out we got on a more serious topic. We started talking about my issue.

"Brooke could be a bit more sympathetic." Cody agreed. "I know. This isn't all Paige's fault. They're the ones who made her upset. They should really check what they're doing." Josh agreed. I stayed in silence. "Agreed. The TV show makes her seem so perfect." Cody drank more Pepsi. "She's far from perfect, believe me. She's becoming so spoiled. She's soaking up all Abby's complements." I said and I didn't even realize it.

"Mom is at fault here, too." Josh stated. We gossiped a little longer about Brooke and Mom. It felt good to get everything out.

I felt like Josh and I had become so close in so little time. I felt like I've known Cody for forever, he just understood everything about me.

It's been 6 hours since we arrived at Cody's house. "So... Are you guys gonna go home?" Cody questioned. "Um, I think we can stay a little longer." Josh looked at me for approval. I nodded. I approved.

Josh's phone rang. Josh put it on speaker. It was Brooke. "Josh! Get home, now!" Brooke demanded. "Grouchy, I'm good thanks for asking by the way." Josh rolled his eyes. "Your welcome." Brooke sarcastically spat out. "I'm not coming home. Good-bye!" Josh hung up on Brooke. Mom started calling him frantically. Finally, he answered her phonecall.

"I can track you down, Mister Joshua Hyland! Get home!" Mom demanded. "Why?" Josh smirked. "JOSHUA HYLAND YOU BETTER, AND I MEAN BETTER, GET HOME IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!" Mom ordered. "Geez, if you yell this loud my ears are going to bleed." Josh smiled when he irritated Mom.

"JOSHUA! JOSHUA!" Mom yelled. "KELLY! KELLY!" Josh joked. "YOU CANNOT CALL ME BY MY REAL NAME! YOU MUST CALL ME MOTHER!" Mom yelled so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Josh hung up.

"I think she may have popped my ear-drum." Josh rubbed his ear. A brunette lady strutted downstairs. "Cody? What was that yelling?" The lady questioned. "Oh, nothing." Cody answered. "Too loud! Tell these fools to get out of my house!" The lady demanded. "We were about to leave Miss Corventan." Josh grabbed my arm. I stood up and waved to Cody as we left.

"Was that Josh?" I heard Miss Corventan ask as we Cody shut the door. We were kicked out! It made me laugh, knowing that we annoyed someone so much that she kicked us out. Josh laughed, too.
