Life Line

All of my happiness

hangs by a thread.

I can't let go

until I've reached the other end.

Gently, I walk on this line

as it wavers roughly,

thoughts that it may carry me

under invade my mind.

My feet graze the line silently.

Oh, that it stings so painfully,

tears drop from my very eyes

carrying with it my lingering pain.
