Sometimes you can receive what you wish
But you can't take it back
Because getting it is as hard as it gets
My wish came straight from the well
After it washed out of heaven and straight into hell
I always wanted to swim
So the rain gathered together
And made a pond out of them
Dirty, dark, and just down right putrid
I swam within that pond
And saw reflections of my future
In a non ideal place
I would be given what I want
But I learned to swim that summer
That year of grace
While I swam like a mermaid beneath that water
But still felt out of place
My wish was granted but with a twist
Someone I loved had left and drowned
Leaving me sad and with wist
So take it from me and never wish
Because I once loved the pond
But now it's a b**ch
