This is the last chapter of this book.  Yeah, yeah, I know..LAME.

And there might be a sequel, maybe. What are you all thinking about that?

Skips Months In Advance; It's no long August. It's May.

"Joshy!" Someone screamed one morning.

Alex and I hadn't been talking as much recently. Her stress level rose up higher with the pressure of being a graduating senior. We were no longer an offical couple. Oh, no. That ended in Mid-January, when the new kid moved to town. She was gorgeous, I'll admit it. But, Alex was still way prettier than her.

She didn't believe me, of course. Especially when Kyla, the new girl, and I started getting pretty close. You see, we had five classes together, and she asked me to show her around the school. Then, it got a little more serious, asking me to show her around town. So, we started going out every Friday night, and as Alex called them, they were 'dates'. Now, of course they weren't dates. Yes, I was the player, but now I was all for Alex. Alex was the only girl I could see myself with, ever.

Yet, Alex still decided we needed a break. I wasn't sure if it was because of Kyla, or it was because of Matthew, the kid she tutored in Math. Matthew, or as Alex calls him 'Matty', was one of my good friends when we were younger. While I moved up into the popularity crowds, mixed with the cheerleaders and fellow football players, he moved too.

Now, I wouldn't say he moved down. He moved more--what's the word?--sideways. He didn't become a loser nerd. Oh, no. He became a druggie, and apparently Alex found that attractive. She tutored him after school in the school's library on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I stayed after one Wednesday because Alex didn't have a ride home. And, there they sat, in the corner against the wall of windows, laughing and pushing a piece of numbered problems back and forth.

Stupid Math. Stupid "Matty". Alex wouldn't even let me sit with them. I had to sit in the ugly chair against the opposite wall. Apparently, I was a "distraction"  to both of them. He was my best friend, and, she's my girlfriend, I would tell myself, only making my anger build.

And, as I started showing Kyla around, Alex started going out with Matt on Friday nights. And, we slowly stopped talking. Ending our relationship only weeks later. And then I heard them in the hallway only days after we had ended our, so it seemed, perfect relationship.

"Lexiiiii," Matt whined, "Come with me tomorrrrowwww."

"Mattttty," 'Lexi' whinned back.

Lexi? Really, Alex hates that.

"Lexi, please? I can't go by myself. I'll look like a loser!"

"You are a loser," Alexis laughed, "and I love when you call me Lexi."

HA! Wait, what?

I stepped forward, coming out from the hiding place behind the garbage cans. I'm a loser, too.

"Hey, Alex."

Alexis didn't look up. "Alex?"

"Oh! I'm not used to people calling me Alex!" She giggled, clinging to Matt's arm, "Sorry Josh!"

"Hey Man," Matt smiled at me, but I just walked away. I looked for someone to talk to down the hall, not making me look like a complete loser.

I was glad when hands suddenly covered my eyes. A body pressed up against my back. That was Kyla's new thing. She loved to stand up on her tippy toes--she's a little shortie--and cover my eyes.
