Chapter 16

Maybe now, he can finally sing me the song he always hums, maybe he'll sing me to sleep at night.

I smiled at that thought.

"Lexi, the bus" Hannah yelled and pointed forward.

We started running, but soon after my beanie fell off my head.

"Crap" I muttered and stopped running and pick it up.

I placed it back on my head and started running again, but it was too late.

The bus doors were closing and Hannah was on the bus.

Hannah banged on the window and it started to drive away.

"Wait!" I yelled out and kept running, but there was no use. It was gone.

I have to wait for the next bus to come and possibly be late for the concert.

A wave of sadness rushes over me as I sit down on the bench and rest my head on the window.

As if he could feel me being sad, he started humming.

A small smile grew on my face.

His voice sounded so wonderful and peaceful.

It also sounded real.

As if it were actually near me and not in my head.

I looked up and looked around.

All I did was look into his eye and then..... everything was color.
