Sky’s POV

Next morning I awake early in the hospital wing, my arm feeling good as new, and by the time Madam Pomfrey allows me to return to my classes, and I’ve collected my books from Ravenclaw tower I just missed the end of my first class; Defence against the dark arts. I decide I should go and tell Professor Knightly why I missed his lesson so I set off towards his classroom on the 3rd floor.

Naomis POV

This was it, I knew it was coming and I’ve done my best to stop it but he’s going to do it anyway. I have to find Lucas before its too late; I just hope he would trust me, I’m being stupid, of course he won’t trust me, I’ve spent the whole year making them not trust me, if only I could explain, I’m just trying to keep her safe. Where on earth is he? After a few frantic minuets I turn a corner and see him and Hannah walking up the stairs to charms, I push past random people who yell after me but I don’t care.

“Lucas!” I call as I run up the stairs trying to catch up with him

He turns around to see me and a look of shock crosses his face before it’s replaced by a frown

“What do you want Harticks? Come to brag over the quidditch match?” He says coldly

I ignore the comment and give him a serious look; I just can’t be bothered with the acting mean, smirking and eye rolling, it’s too late for that now, it didn’t work anyway

“Have you seen Sky?” I ask

“Why? Want to break her other arm?” Hannah asks, glaring at me

“No, I...” I start, unsure what to say

“Just leave us alone” Lucas say’s to me and turns to walk away

“Wait!” I say, grabbing his arm

“Sky’s in danger, I can’t explain, just please Lucas, Trust me?” I say quickly in one breath

Lucas’s POV

“Sky’ s in danger, I can’t explain, just please Lucas, Trust me?” she says, I look into her misty blue eyes, hesitate, then nod

“Sky’s in danger?...” I ask in an almost whisper, feeling sick in my stomach. How could this be?

“Yes!” says Naomi looking relieved that I am finally listening to her

Hannah doesn’t look convinced though

“What if this is just some stupid joke?” she asks, looking at Naomi disbelievingly

“I promise Hannah, Please just believe me” she almost begs, her voice shaking as she does so and even Hannah can’t miss that desperate look in her eyes, she is not lying and we both know it.

“Okay” says Hannah “Where is she?”

“No time to explain, follow me.” She says, and sets off back down the stairs and though the corridor in which we just came to the defence against the dark arts classroom. I have to run to keep up with her pace as she opens the door and gasps. The room is in utter destruction; papers that were stacked neatly on the desk and spread across the floor and the glass tanks around the room are smashed and broken, someone has been casting some bad magic in here. Across the room, a portrait I have never paid much attention is lopsided, I slowly walk over trying not to step on any broken glass and move it off the wall, behind the picture is a door.

“Look at this” I say, waving Naomi and Hannah over

“What’s that?” says Hannah as she runs her finger over the torn picture

“A secret door?” I suggest, looking at Naomi

She nods and looks at me

“This is all my Dad’s fault.”

This comment takes me by surprise

“Dad?” I ask

“Professor Knightly, he’s my dad. And He’s out to kill Sky…”
