Battle scars

It was an hour later and I had my mask of makeup on, it felt so heavy. I guess in the first years of high school I was used to it but I haven't done this since the funeral. I double check everything in the mirror before reaching for my bag and carrying it to my bookshelf where my jotters were. I signed at the thought of my classes today.

I smiled that I had history because to be honest I like all of the subjects I took but history was my favorite. I unplugged my new phone the rose gold I phone 6s which dad had got me yesterday because if he was in the house then I'd beg him! I checked the time and I still had an hour left so I went for the door but stopped at the full length mirror staring at all the scars on my arms

I whisper to myself as I grab my bag and shoes and open the door to walk downstairs to cook some breakfast.

"bye dad!" I shout as I run out the door and start on my 10 minute walk to school. I get a lot of strange looks as I walk up to the old block stairs where the entrance is for my locker. But that's where Elle and her delinquents hang out I say to myself but brush it off. As I walk up my nightmares turn into a reality
"So.. Finally stopped crying over your queer sister?" she says
"Shut up Elle"
"No! Why are you even dressed like that?! I mean just give up on life jeez Jen your sister left you and your mum left you and your dads an alcoholic who can't take care of you! You're nothing!"
"Elle just drop it!"
"Then fight back! You scarred up freak!"
"No!"
"Why not? Scared?"
"No I'm not 'scared'! I'm not fighting back because the last time I checked it was pretty weak to pick on someone with cancer!" I raised my voice at the last bit, catching everyone's attention leaving Elle in shock as I walked off.
