(Name) sat in a foldable chair on the sidelines of the tiny soccer field meant for children. Today was her day to take (Brother's Name) to his soccer game, and she was ready to cheer him on. She was a decent soccer player herself, and she had taught him a good deal leading up to this game. Therefore, she wanted to see (Brother's Name) become the star of his soccer team.

Okay, yeah, they were 7, but developing motor skills at an early age was good for kids, right?

She probably went overboard with the cardboard signs she made, but whatever.

(Name) glanced down to check the time and in her boredom that had built while she waited for the game to start, she decided to reread the first words her soulmate would say to her.

"Excuse you. Asuna is going to kick (Brother's Name)'s ass."

Those were the words tattooed on her arm. How lucky. Maybe today would hold the soccer game that she'd meet her soulmate? Maybe he or she wasn't as big of a jerk as he or she sounded. Pfft. With her luck, no way. She'd be stuck with an asshole of a soulmate, and wouldn't even know it because he or she was her soulmate. And then she'd just be remembered in high school as the girl with the asshole of a soulmate.

Finally the game was underway. (Brother's Name) immediately stood out among the goofy fat balls that people called their children and scored the first goal of the match.

(Name) jumped up in her seat, "WHOOOO! Go (Brother's Name)!"

But then disaster struck. A girl from the opposite team dribbled right through the defense and scored! And when this happened, a boy about (Name)'s age jumped up and screamed, "Go Sis!!!", practically in her ear.

This was going to be a battle that (Name) was not about to lose. She dug one of her signs out of her bag, "It's alright (Brother's Name)! Get them back! Dribble around her!"

And then shit got real.

The boy next to (Name) turned, tapped her on the shoulder, and said, "Excuse you. Asuna is going to kick (Brother's Name)'s ass."

In her anger (Name) forgot all about her soulmate.

"No way! (Brother's Name) is the best in the league!", came her indignant response to the boy.

His facial expression soon became a cauldron of mixed emotions. First hesitation, then confusion, next a bit of despair, and finally a small smile with the words, "So you're my soulmate..."

It took (Name) a second before she was able to register that news; the sounds of the soccer game in the background slowly faded away once she glanced at the words on her arm and realized that she was talking to her soulmate.

"Oh." she wasn't able to say anything else.

A beautiful laugh escaped the boy's lips as he extended his hand, "I'm sorry, can we start again?"

(Name) found her wits again and nodded as a smile made its way to her face and she shook his hand, "Of course. I'm (Name). Nice to meet you."

The boy winked, "It's a pleasure, (Name). Although I have to admit, I wasn't expecting to be blessed with such a gorgeous soulmate.... I'm Takao."

(Name) flushed a deep red, he wasn't so bad himself. Okay, who was she kidding, he was beyond hot. And that name sounded familiar. Who was he....-

"Do you go to Shutoku, (Name)? Your name sounds so familiar...", he had read her mind.

She nodded, "Yeah, I'm a 2nd year there... Your name sounds familiar too... Uhhh... Do you play a sport there?" That was a logical question, I mean, he was obviously in amazing shape.

Takao beamed brightly at her, "Yup! Basketball! .... Oh! You're (Last Name) (Name)! You play soccer!"

"How'd you know?"

"Shin-chan talks about you sometimes!"

"Shin-chan... Oh! Shintarou? That's right! He talks about you too! What a coincidence!" (Name) laughed at how close her soulmate had been all this time.

Takao beamed at her, "I'll have to thank him later, but first, are you free tonight?"
