Kayla's POV

The sun beat down on me. My eyes hurt. My body was sore.

Why did the Caves have to be so far away?

Why not, Kayla, John's voice popped into my head.

"Ahh!!! How are you in my head."

Don't worry about me being in your head, John replied. Worry about the people here in Phoenix who will think your crazy if you keep talking aloud.

I looked around. There was a lot of people starring at me like I was crazy.

Good point, I told him.

Just make it to the mountain and your there. His voice faded as he finished.

Huff it up, Kayla. Your goal is to reach the mountain.

The buildings grew less and less.

"Don't move," said a gruff voice behind me. The click of a gun and the pressure of a gun come close to my head.

I rose my hands as if I was truely scared. "What do you want," I pretend.

"Turn around and hand me your bag," he replied.

John, a little help, please, I sent out as I turned around.

Just focus on the fire with in, he replied.

All of a sudden heat welled up in me. Fire erupted from my hands. The guys who was holding the gun to my head slid backwards.

"Ahh... I'm so sorry," I said, trying to put the fire out.

"Wantomn onte, fliorna basora," he said before running off.

Watch out, fire bitch, John translated.

My eyes enlarge. My hands fly to my mouth. Tears start to flow.

Calm down, you'll get used to it, John said.

What if I never do, I asked him.

You will, his voice faded. The mountain.

I made the rest of the hike to the entrance of the tunnel only to be splashed with a serious amount of water.
