" This moment is an opportunity. " -Anonymous

My phone kept ringing and ringing before I heard his voicemail.

"Corey, please call me back. I'm sorry about how we left things when we last talked." I said into his voicemail for the 10th time in 2 days.

Swinging my purse in front of my I dropped my phone back in and walked towards the hospital. My first official day of being a doctor. It felt surreal that I actually made it this far. For a moment I had to just stop and stare at the hospital in awe.

Until some jackass ran into me from behind.

"Hey! Watch it!" I yelled as I caught my footing, thankful I didn't face plant.

The woman scoffed, "Don't stand in the way then."

I looked up and noticed the woman was about my age and the same build as me. Her hair was blonde and not long, cut off about an inch below her shoulders. It wasn't really styled as she pulled it back into a ponytail. "First day?" She asked.

Her skin was tan, and she had a bit of an accent. She could have been Indian, or perhaps Arabian. Her ethnicity was definitely from somewhere in that part of the world.

"It's my first day, is it that easy to tell?" I asked with a smile. "I'm a surgical intern as of today."

She laughed before abruptly stopping, "Oh you're seriously a surgical intern? I thought you were kidding, I mean you don't look hardcore enough for this job."

I studied her for a moment, she was definitely cocky. "You were top of you're class weren't you?"

She didn't look surprised, instead just nodded. I laughed a little, "You'll drop out before I do. You don't seem to have any empathy and that's important part of the job." I stood my ground as I lightly shouldered my way past her with a smirk.

She seemed like one of those people who would be shocked and stare at me with her mouth open a little. I made sure that I looked like this amazingly, sassy and coordinated person as I walked away.

There was a clock on the hospital wall that made me panic slightly. I had to be ready and changed into scrubs in 4 minutes.

Swiftly I managed to get through the crowd of doctors up to the surgical floor of the hospital. The interns had their own locker room, hopefully I won't get stuck with a bad locker, or one that has a permanent smell embedded within it.

The locker room didn't smell as bad as I had imagined it would smell, and in fact I was surprised half the room was empty. I grabbed a locker in the middle of the room. There was a bench in the aisle between the lockers, which is why I chose one of these lockers.

I noticed a set of scrubs in the locker room. They were definitely a size or two too big, but after today I would probably be able to get a pair that fit right.

Quickly I took my shirt off and switched it for the blue shirt. I found a spare hair tie around my wrist and used it to tie the shirt back a bit so that it wasn't baggy. My jeans slipped off pretty easy and my day was perfect until some guy in the room cat-called me. "Hottie with a body!"
