Four months passed since the tragic day and Gotham wasn't the same. It did bloom again, but in the hearts of many there was a missing link. I was living in Alfred's house, since I had nowhere else to go. Plus I couldn't return back to the circus, not at the state I was in that moment.
Today Alfred decided for us to go and sit at his favorite restaurant, so I got ready and we took our way to it. Every time I was going out, I was looking around to meet Jack's face. Not that I knew what I would do if I see him, but I longed to feel his presence.
We soon arrived at the place and took the reserved table. We ordered tea and then something that made me think I've lost my mind happened. I looked at Alfred to see if he saw it too and from the look on his face I could assume he did. I turned my attention back to the man and he smiled at us, raising his glass of white wine for a toast. A tear rolled down Alfred's cheek, a tear from happiness, because right in front of us stood Bruce Wayne.
"Let's go." I blinked few times at Alfred's words.
"But we just got here..."
"Claire." I didn't protest anymore. I stood up as well and was about to walk away when a familiar voice stopped me from behind.
"Excuse me, Miss." I turned around and smiled at the man I thought was dead. "You forgot your purse." He handed it to me and I took it from his hands.
"Thank you..." I could feel Alfred staring at us from behind, I just didn't understand why he wanted to leave all of the sudden.
"May I ask who the lucky guy is?" His question pulled me out of my thoughts and I rubbed my belly.
"He's a Dark Knight..." I smiled, hoping he will understand what I meant.
"Claire!" Alfred called from behind.
"I'm sorry..." I turned around to leave, but before walking I away he spoke again.
"You look familiar..." I turned around shocked by his words. Did he not remember? " There was a girl at the circus with wings... I don't see her there anymore, but I still go there every night at 8 o'clock." He winked at me and walked away. I understood why he said that, but without expression any emotion I walked to where Alfred stood.
We were driving in the car in silence, until I decided to speak.
"Why didn't you want to stay there?" I was looking at the road from the window, scared to face him.
"We are danger to him... If someone notices him, chaos will return, Miss Claire." I knew very well who that someone was. He was right, if Jack did find out he was alive everything would start again.
"He told me to go at the circus tonight and meet him there..." At first I was planning on lying to him, but my heart didn't allow me to lie to Alfred. He kept quiet for a while.

"You should go, since he told you to be there." I smiled like a child at him and he chuckled. "Tell him from me he is a madman."
"I will, Alfred, I will." I laughed out and we returned to our quiet state, but I was sure that he was exploding from happiness on the inside, just like me, that Bruce was alive.
