a girl was set off to the side of the line at a café, her eyes skimming all the orders. she was very indecisive. a boy walked up behind her and began to ask her questions. "chocolate or vanilla?" he said in a monotone voice.

"vanilla," she answered, not turning around and acting as if she didn't get scared. "favorite syrup?"

       "marshmallow."

       "topping?"

"whip cream and rainbow sprinkles, but no cherry, ugh."

her eyes were still scanning the menu, but she was smiling. she turned around. she was staring, and she couldn't help it. the colors surrounding the stranger she was speaking to seemed to fade to different shades of grey. he was her only source of colors. she also noticed the fact that she was a shortie compared to him. he went in the line that no one was in and ordered a drink despite himself already having one in his hand.

"can i have an order twenty-seven?"

the girl couldn't stop staring at this boy.

when the order was ready he paid, and she tried to pay but he said, "i'm trying to impress you now shut up and let me pay." so what did she do?

       she shut up.
