I always know when she's remembering something that hurts her soul.

Just through her eyes. They become endless pools of grey. Unyielding in their severity; like angry seas tossing about anything and anyone who dare try to sail them.

She fades into that greyness for some time, until finally those angry seas become calmer with the promise of sunshine poking through the clouds disguised as laughter.

It's always laughter that brings her back, pure, unaltered happiness sneaking through.

Just know, if you ever love her like I did... like I do, be wary of those grey eyes. They're telling of a storm that will rip you apart from the tiniest cracks you never knew you had.
