18. She Loved Him Desperately

She loved him desperately. She loved the sharpness of his jaw. Loved how he seemed more rugged with stubble covering his cheeks. She loved the crazy voices he made in an attempt to make her laugh.

She loved how he danced and sang off key purposefully. And she loved those moments when she caught him singing on key and it tore her heart apart because it was beautiful.

She loved him. And he would never notice. He wasn't the kind of guy to notice when he was being loved.

That was part of the reason she loved him. It was easier to love someone who wouldn't know. Easier than letting in another to see her blackened heart. Easier than explaining her bruised and bloody history to yet one more person who wouldn't be able to hide the judgement and pity in their eyes.

Loving him from afar was fine.
