Silence wasn't common on Mount Justice, especially on a Saturday morning. Usually every member of the team was fighting over what breakfast was going to consist of, considering Saturday mornings was when we all ate together like a family.

That's what Artemis loved the most about it, because she never really had that with her family.

"Guys?" Artemis called out, dropping her bag of extra arrows that she crafted last night, on the floor near the kitchen island.

She began to explore around the place, but no one was there. Not even Superboy or M'Gann and they lived there.

"Maybe I'm early..." She thought out loud, heading to her room to change into some clothes to work out in. If she had some time to kill, might as well use it at the gym.

Once there, Artemis knocked an arrow on her slender, green bow and aimed for a cardboard figure shaped like a generic, male man. She missed the her original target, which had been the heart, as the arrow landed on the left arm of the figure. This got Artemis angry as she knocked another arrow. Without thinking or aiming she released it.

The angered blonde suddenly saw a flash of yellow and red before anything else. Next thing she knew, Wally was there, holding her arrow, preventing it from hitting one of the TV's they kept in the gym.

"Aren't you a star shooter," Wally couldn't help but laugh at Artemis is in her state of rage. The archer took a deep breath and lowered her bow.

"Aren't you a star speedster," She remarked walking over to him to retrieve her arrow.

"You know it, beautiful." Wally gave her a wink as he handed the rogue arrow to her.

That's the word that threw Artemis off. Every time Wally called her that, she felt a moment of vulnerability, like she had opened her heart a crack and let the speedster in. Then again, he always referred to M'Gann as 'babe'. What was the deal with that?

"Why do you call me that?" Artemis asked, retying her ponytail to give her hands something to do.

"What? Beautiful?" Wally asked. Artemis nodded in response as she threw her hands down, done with her previous task. "Because when I see beauty, I announce it. Make it known." Artemis couldn't help but blush at his statement, until the thought came up again.

"Then... why do you call M'Gann 'babe'?" Was that a hint of jealousy in her voice? Couldn't be, that would require her and Wally to be in relationship... which they totally were not in. Yet.

"I mean..." Wally didn't know how to answer the question. He reached behind his head to fix his ginger hair from behind. "Well, I call M'Gann 'babe' because she is a babe." Not knowing what she was doing, Artemis playfully slugged Wally in the arm.

"Ow! I hurt that shoulder in combat today!" Wally whined as Artemis just chuckled at him.

"Wait... combat?" Artemis raised an eyebrow in confusion, taking a seat on a piece of exercise equipment. This is the part where Wally started to squirm like her was under a bright light in the middle of a murder investigation.

"Oh, well... we may have, sorta, took a call to go take down Captain Cold with Uncle Barry. I mean, The Flash." Wally was acting skiddish, and now Artemis knew why. She was now going to kick his butt.

"Why did you guys go help The Flash without me?!" The green archer practically screamed. Wally looked more terrified than ever as he lightly chuckled.

"You were at school..."

"Well... that explains why Dick wasn't there today. What about you? You had school too!" Artemis crossed her arms, now not in the mood to open her heart up with vulnerability.

"I played hooky." Wally showed a smug face, which immediately went away when he saw Artemis' mad face again.

Suddenly, there was a voice coming from downstairs that startled them both.

"Guys! Rice Krispies are done!" The team's favorite martian girl called with her tone as sweet as sugar. Artemis' brow came up in question again.

"Dessert before dinner? That's not like M'Gann."  Wally just looked down and shuffled his feet.

"No. You guys did not. Not on family dinner night. I swear Wallace West-"

"We grabbed pizza after we totally kicked Captain Cold's-"

"I'm gonna kick your-"

"Guys," M'Gann greeted, floating into the gym with her usual red X and blue skirt, where Wally and Artemis, not even realizing it, had their faces so close together that they were practically breathing the same air. "Just wanted to tell you the treats were done." The martian cracked a smile before floating out of the room.

Wally took a large gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing a little as he did. Artemis' eyes softened a bit as she looked into Wally's, taking short, gentle breaths to calm down. The yellow speedster closed his eyes slightly, as if he already anticipated what was going to happen. Artemis closed her eyes as well, pressing her lips softly against his, tilting her head to where her blonde ponytail began to swing a little.

Their lips parted from each other as they heard a gentle knock on the entrance of the door. M'Gann looked sorry as they both stared at her blankly for interrupting.

"Just wondering if you both were going to join us for dessert?" She almost said in a whisper tone to the two.

"You got it babe." Wally winked at the now blushing martian, pointing snazzy finger guns her way. Artemis playfully, but not too gently, slugged him in the arm again.

"Ow!" They began to walk out of the gym, bumping shoulders with each other.

"You're such a wimp."
