My love is not an object,

It cannot simply be bought,

You wouldn't ever find it

In any marketplace or shop.

The sum does not matter,

My affection is not for sale.

Do not think that pretty flowers

Or jewelled bribes could ever prevail.

You cannot win it with your charm,

It is not some prize in a game.

No bravado could ever convince me

To give this love away.

My love is not an object

And It will not simply be bought.

I'm not like other people,

I won't surrender as easily as you thought.
