We separated and she stared at me shocked. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," I said.

"No, it's okay. I kind of liked it," she admitted. I smiled and she gasped. She blushed. I think she didn't mean to say that. "Did I just say that out loud?"

"Yeah, you did. But it's okay, I liked it too."

She sighed of relief. "Oh. Good. I mean..." I laughed. "Why are you laughing at me?"

"I'm not," I lied.

"Yes you are," she said and crossed her arms angrily.

"Okay, I am. But only because you're funny."

"Oh whatever." Her eyes got really wide. "I... I gotta go. Chase is going to kill me!" She ran to the door but I quickly blocked it.

"No! You can't go! I won't let you get hurt!" I said.

"I have to! I can't leave my parents! Besides, he'll find us eventually."

"You won't have to worry about that. We could call the police."

"He would just break out. You don't know what he's capable of. He's dangerous."

There was a short pause until I thought of an idea. "Then we have to run away. Yeah, that's what we have to do."

Her eyes widened again. "No, we can't! Just let me go home!" She started crying and I felt bad. I almost caved in but I can't. I won't. I'm going to help her.

"I can't let you do that. Your boyfriend will keep abusing you and you don't deserve that. I'm going to help you if it's the last thing I do."

"Why do you even want to help me so bad?"

"Because I'm your friend and I care about you."

She sighed. "Okay. I'll stay."

I smiled. "Good." I leaned in and soon my lips crushed hers. I loved the feeling. A few seconds later we parted but I didn't want to.

"Do you kiss all your friends like that?" she asked which caused me to laugh.

"That's the thing. I was hoping we could be more than friends," I replied and slowly leaned in again but she took a step back.

"But you just met me. Besides, I have a boyfriend."

"I know we just met but I already like you a lot. And you said you tried breaking up with him but he wouldn't let you so technically you don't have a boyfriend. So what do you say?"

"Look, I like you too but I can't. I wish we could be more than friends but if Chase found out not only would he kill me but he'd also kill you."

"That's a risk I'm willing to take. I don't even think he would be able to take me."

"Let me think about it."

"Okay." There was a short pause. "What do you want to do?"

"What do you have that we can do?"

"I have paper and markers so we could draw, notebook paper, a deck of cards, video games, or we could go out to lunch. I also have a lot of movies."

"I don't want to go out in case Chase happens to be there but a movie sounds good."

"Okay. I'll go get all of them and you can pick which one you want to watch."

"Okay." I went over to my movie desk and grabbed all of my romance movies. I have a lot of other movies than romantic movies but I'm pretending I only have romantic ones so I can put my arm around her. The romance movies are really my mom's but we keep them in my room. "Here are the movies. Sorry, I only have romance movies. They're really my mom's though."

"It's fine. Umm.... How about we watch Little Manhattan?"

"Yeah, sure." I grabbed the movie and put it in the DVD box. We sat down on my bed and I pressed play with the remote. The movie started because there weren't any commercials. About fifteen minutes into the movie I leaned in but she backed up. "You're killing me."

"What? How?" she asked confused.

"Because I can't do this." I pressed my lips to hers. "Please go out with me," I said pleadingly.

"Why do you want to go out with me so bad? You can do so much better." She's so wrong about that.

"No, I can't. You're perfect."

She started to smile. "Okay. I'll go out with you."

I smiled. "Great." I leaned in and kissed her. When we broke apart we were both smiling. We continued to watch the movie and talk. I can't be any happier than I am right now.
