"Guess what?" I asked excitedly as I sat down next to my friends at the lunch table. Zac had his arm around Emily and Darren had his arm around Allison. Darren and Allison made their relationship official yesterday at dinner.

"What?" they asked simultaneously.

"I'm gonna be in the talent show!" I had a smile on my face.

Ben smiled too. "That's great!" He hugged me. "I knew you would make it."

"What are you doing in it?" Emily asked.

"Singing," I replied.

"I didn't know you sing," Allison said.

"Well, normally I don't in front of people but I decided to just give the talent show a try."

"Oh, cool."

"That was Bethany Chambers playing Clocks on the piano. Now give it up for Harmony Campbell!" the principal said onstage. Everyone clapped.

"You're gonna do great," Ben said quietly. He gave me a quick kiss and then I went onstage. The principal gave methe microphone and I sat down on the stool and started singing God Must've Spent by Cady Groves.

“Can this be true, tell me, can this be real? How can I put into words what I feel. My life was complete, I thought I was whole. How come I feel like I'm losing control. I never thought that love could feel like this. Then you changed my world with just one kiss. How can it be that right here with me. There’s an angel, it’s a miracle.

Your love is like a river. Peaceful and deep. Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep. When I look into your eyes I know that it’s true. God must have spent a little more time on you. Oh, a little more time on you, baby.

In all creations of things great and small. You are the one who surpasses them all. More precious than any diamond or pearl. You broke the mold when you came in this world. Now I’m trying hard to figure out. Just how I ever did without. The warmth of your smile, the heart of a child. That’s deep inside and leaves me purified.

Your love is like a river. Peaceful and deep. Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep. When I look into your eyes I know that it’s true. God must have spent a little more time on you. Oh, a little more time on you, baby.

I never thought that love could feel like this. Then you changed my world with just one kiss. How can it be that right here with me. There's an angel, it's a miracle.

Your love is like a river. Peaceful and deep. Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep. When I look into your eyes I know that it’s true. God must have spent a little more time on you. Oh, a little more time on you, baby."

Once I finished singing the audience clapped. I walked offstage and Ben came over to me.

"You were great!" he said and hugged me.

"Thanks. I was so nervous," I admitted.

We broke apart and started making our way to where the crowd is with his arm around me. "So do you want to go catch a movie after school?"

"Sure."

"Okay."

I saw Allison and Emily run over to us. "Harmony!"

"Hey," I said.

"You were great!" Allison said.

"Thanks!"

Emily opened her mouth to say something but the principal cut her off. "Alright. The talent show is over but before I can send you to your lockers I have an announcement to make. We will not have school on Friday due to the middle school's conferences." Everyone cheered. "You may go to your lockers now."

I turned around and started walking to my locker. Ben caught up with me.

"Do you want to go home first or straight to the movies?" he asked.

"Either one. I don't really care."

"Okay." We arrived to my locker. I put in the combination and grabbed my backpack. When I turned around to face him he was just inches away from me. "I love you."

I smiled. "I love you too." I leaned in and kissed him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. Once we broke apart he rested his forehead against mine.

"You mean everything to me. You complete me."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

I smiled. "You mean everything to me too. You saved me." I kissed him again. We headed outside and to his car. "What movie are we gonna watch?"
