A Brother's Love: Don't Go

~Special Chapter~

Sasuke quietly walks through the dark dimly lit hallway to his brother's room. He carefully carries the silver tray containing a bowl of soup and a cup of green tea. His foosteps echoes as he nears the room where his brother had been staying for the past four months eversince they had learned the painful truth about Itachi's health condition

Upon arriving to his destination, Sasuke  balanced the tray on his dominant hand while the other quietly knocks on the dark coloured door

A weak "come in" was heard and so he enters the room filled with beeping monitors and medicines

"I brought dinner, nii-san" the younger raven head greets his smiling brother

"Ah, arigatou" Itachi replies reaching out to pat his little brother's arm, the smile still plastered on his handsome face. Sasuke gulps as he shakily place the tray on the side table next to Itachi's bed

"Sasuke?"

Itachi worriedly caresses Sasuke's cheek. He knew someting was bothering his baby brother... But he also knew the reason why

"L-let me feed you, nii-san" Sasuke quietly offers, already taking the bowl to his hand

Itachi sighs

"Sasuke, I appreciate your concern but I can still feed myself" Itachi replies, lowering his pale hand from Sasuke's cheek

"I-I know that..."

"Then-"

"Just let me feed you please!"

Sasuke hadn't realized that he had shouted making Itachi startled and the heart monitor alerting both of them

"I-I... Gomen, nii-san"

Itachi smiles a sad smile then he open his arms waiting for Sasuke to take his offer

"Nii-san..."

Itachi knew his baby brother needed this

A single tear slides down Sasuke's cheek as he accepts his brother's embrace

"Nii-san, please! Please don't leave me..."

Sasuke hadn't realized he was already sobbing in his brother's arm while Itachi caringly brushes his raven hair in hopes to calm his shaking brother

"I don't want you gone... please, nii-san"

Itachi sighs once again

"Sasuke, you know that would be difficult"

"..."

Sasuke knew that all to well but he refuse to accept it

He doesn't want to lose his only brother who always looked after him, always took care of him when he was sick, always sacrificed his time just to spend time with him, and most of all the one who always made sure he always felt loved

The least Sasuke could do is to take good care of his older brother (in his remaining time) as much as he can to repay all the sacrifices Itachi did for him

Itachi was always there for Sasuke. Eversince Itachi learned that he would have a younger brother he had promised himself that he would always take good care of Sasuke, and Itachi did proved that promise!

"You're all I have nii-san, please I can't lose you"

Sasuke begs even though he knew his pleadings can never come true, Itachi's disease was slowly eating him away

"Sasuke," Itachi was wide-eyed after everything Sasuke had said to him

Why would Sasuke think he would lose his beloved brother?

Just because Itachi wouldn't be there physically, doesn't mean he's not really there. Beloved ones may leave but will always stay in our hearts

"Sasuke, I will never leave you. Just because nii-san is not physically next to you anymore doesn't mean I'm not with you" Itachi gently pulls Sasuke away at arms length and kisses his forehead while Sasuke shields his tearing eyes with his arm

"Sasuke, just promise me these please"

"Anything nii-san" Sniffles Sasuke

"Promise me that... When nii-san is gone, I will still be your big brother, okay? And that always remember nii-san is still and will always be next to you" Itachi gives a smile

"P-promise nii-san"

Itachi brings Sasuke back to his warm embrace...

That was the last hug they shared...

"Itachi, Dear, I have great news!" Sqeals Mikoto as her arms fall to her stomach

"What is it, okaa-san?" Five year old Itachi stares curiously at his giggling mother while Fugaku waits for his wife to spill the beans... Though it looks like Fugaku might already know the answer since he's face was showing that tiny smile

Mikoto kneels to Itachi's eye level and cups his cheeks

"you're going to be a big brother!"

Fugaku and Itachi had the biggest smiles on their faces that very day Mikoto annouced she was pregnant with their second son

Oh how Fugaku was right!

"Can I see him now!?" Itachi impatiently bounce on Fugaku's arms as they wait to see the new addition to their family

"In a few minutes, son" Fugaku chuckles at Itachi's obvious excitement to see his baby brother

"I wanna see Sasuke already!"

Itachi's eyes were concentrated oh his sleeping baby brother that is now placed around Mikoto's arms

"C-Can I hold him?" Itachi pokes Sasuke's forehead and the little infant squirms around his mother's embrace

"Sure dear, here support his head.. There..."

Itachi probably smiled the biggest smile that day as he place a sweet gentle kiss on his baby brother's temple

"Hi Sasuke, I'm your big brother Itachi! I will always protect you so don't worry, okay?"

Sasuke brushes his now sleeping brother's raven locks as he sleeps soundly on his white bed

"Don't go, nii-san"
