A PROMISE

1. Life Wonders.

Hello! Just a fair warning a whole load of cringe ahead. I wrote this a very long time ago, although I have tried fixing it up a little bit. Once you read further chapters you'll start seeing improvement!

Age 5
You and Gary were best friends for as long as you could remember. Right now, you were with Professor Oak and Gary in Professor Oak's Garden.

Professor Oak was reading a book about Pokemon while you and Gary were talking about God knows what.

That is, until both heard something near the bushes causing both you and Gary to perk up in curiosity, "Did you hear that?"

"Sure did." Gary replied with a slight hesitation in his voice, desperately wants to know what they had heard.

He immediately stood up to walk towards the direction the noise was heard, "Eevee!" The Pokemon said. An Eevee popped out of the green colored bushes, they both flinched but then looked at the small brown-coated Pokemon once again, with excitement.

"It's an Eevee!" Both said at the same time in amusement. Just like any other child would once they saw a new Pokemon.

"It's mine!" Gary childishly shouted ready to grab the small Pokemon. Already proclaiming the Eevee as his own.

"Huh? Hey, Gary! That's not fair!" You shouted back at him, getting a little angry at Gary since he got a "head start" and didn't even take a second to wait for you.

The both of you argued back and forth until you grew rather impatient and said, "You know what?" You sighed, "How about we let Eevee decide? It's only fair."

Gary nodded until a smirk spread across his face. Oh, how you hated that same smirk of his that you knew very well, "Of course, Eevee will pick me after all."

You rolled your eyes, 'we'll see about that' you thought to yourself.

You placed Eevee in the center while Gary was on the left, and you were on the right of the Eevee.

Eevee looked back and forth at both of you, it lasted a couple of seconds, until the small Eevee started walking towards your direction.

You reached down to grab her, and placed her in your arms, while it looked up at you, eyes big and round. You held Eevee in your arms once it got close to you.

"I guess Eevee liked me better than you." You said intimating the confident smirk he had on his face  before.

"Yeah, whatever." Gary 'hmpft' looking away, before returning his gaze at you once again.

It was quiet until Professor Oak stood up and started to clear his throat as in signaling that he had something to say. Finally, opening his mouth looking towards you.

"If I were to guess I'd say in the near future you and Eevee will have a strong bond between each other." He said with a weak smile.

You looked confused for just a couple of seconds, then a big smile plastered itseld across your face and you down looked at the Eevee that was in your arms.

"Wow, really? You hear that, Eevee! That's pretty great!" You said smiling wide at Eevee, the Eevee started to smile and only nodded then.

Gary still wasn't happy that Eevee chose you over him. But who could blame him? He was really selfish after all.

You went near him and stuck your hand out, you didn't like seeing him like this at all. It was really unlike him and you just weren't used to it yet.

He saw and stuck out his hand, ready to grab onto yours. He slightly smiled trying so hard not to look at you in your (e/c) colored eyes.

He then managed to grab onto your hand.

"Are you mad?" You asked.

"So what if I am?" Gary said, tilting his chin up, closing his eyes, but then peeked out one eye to look at you.

"Oh, you silly Gary." You giggled, knowing that he was just joking.

After that both of you ended up on the floor, dying of laughter. Looking like two complete idiots, but you guys didn't care. As long as you both were together that's all that mattered.
