Chapter 15

Callie's POV

   I collapse into my bed and smile like a little schoolgirl. Tonight was absolutely perfect. The food to the conversations were wonderful. The date keeps replaying in my head. I can't wait until our next one, which is next week. We made an agreement that we would go out at least once a week, despite our crazy work schedules. Work is important, but so spending time with Arizona. 

    My phone buzzes on the bedside table. I grab it and see it's Owen calling me on Facetime. I press accept. "Hey Owen. What's going on?" His eyes are bloodshot and his face is ragged. "Amelia and I got into a really bad fight. The ending result wasn't great. She stormed out of the apartment and left without saying where she was going." I frown. "I'm sorry Owen. I'm sure she'll come back." He sighs. "I know she will, but I still worry about her wandering in the night by herself. Given her history, I worry more than the average person would." 

   "Owen it sounds like you need a friend right now and I'm going to be that friend. I'll be over in twenty minutes okay." He chokes out an "okay". I end the call, throw on my clothes, grab some money, and head out. Owen has become one of my closest friends and I'm going be there for him when he needs me.
