I awoke quickly the next morning. All I dreamt about was the massacre of all those innocent people by the hands of the dead. "We need to move," Stan said. Nobody really paid attention, I wonder why. "Okay, I know it was bad that I shot Mark," Stan began, "but I already made it clear that it was Roger that made me pull the trigger." he said. I look over at Roger and I can tell that he is annoyed. I'm sure everyone is. He walks out with a grumble, and Carter follows closely behind. I'm about to exit as well, but I stop at the door when I hear Stan talking to Carter. "We need to get these people out of here," Stan began, "this place is about to fall apart." "Once we leave, we should stage a little accident for our little friend." Stan said. I wonder who that could be. I think to myself. "We need to get him alone," Carter replied, "there can't be anyone around to see it." "I like the way you think boy." Stan said. "This evening, we shall set our plan into motion." I step back, and sit with the rest. They continue doing their business, not knowing that Carter and Stan have already decided to kill me. So this is it. The countdown has begun. They'll let everything go off the rails to get a easy excuse of killing me. I'm not going down that easy though. I'm ready for anything they throw at me. Once we finished packing all our supplies. We began to head out. A loud THUD was heard. Carter ran into the room we were in, panicked. "The back door, it broke!" he yelled. "They're flooding in!" Zombies began to come in through the door. We began to shoot them one by one. "Go through the side door, now!" Stan commanded. The group left out the side door, until there was only me, Carter, Stan and Roger. "Get out!" Carter commanded Roger. He ran past the door and out the building. I began towards it, but Carter blocked me. "You're not going anywhere buddy," Carter said as he began to close the door. "But you are!" I said as I pushed him as hard as I could. He fell past the door, so I closed and locked it. "Stay with the others Carter!" Stan yelled. "I'll deal with him myself." As we got closer to the front door, our only way out, the zombies began to be overwhelming. We dashed to the door, and closed it right before we became zombie feed. As I caught my breath, I turn to see Stan pointing a gun directly at my head. Isn't that a surprise. All I'm able to say at this time is, "Why?" "Why?" he responded laughing. "Life doesn't matter anymore!" he said. "No matter what, we'll all turn into those...things." He pointed at the zombies beyond that door. "We'll all turn into those things when we die, no matter what, unless if you kill the brain." His gun was perfectly lined up with my forehead. This time, one move from me and I'm a goner, so I just listen. "A CDC employee told me, so it must be true! I'm sure that man I killed days earlier was going to say the same, so I put him in his place. And I'll do the same with you." This is it. I tried to survive, but I didn't do anything in the long shot. This is the end. As I prepared for the bullet to end my life, a SLING was heard, and an arrow went straight through Stan's head. He slumped over and I see a dark haired girl, holding a crossbow up to her face. "Over here guys," she signaled behind her. "Thank you, for saving my life." "No problem," she replied. "Oh, what am I thinking, we haven't formally met yet." she said. "Hi, my name is Nyx."
