Matthias, Jack and Adam walked into Adam's room to search. It was an hour into the search and their group hadn't found anything so far. Adam push some of the furniture to check for anything hidden; Jack looked through the bookshelves and in the wardrobe; Matthias checked under the bed.
"...what's this, Adam?" He asked, pulling out a sub-machine gun with two extra clips of ammo
"Eh- I, uh... I had no idea that was even there!" Said Adam, looking at the gun in what seemed like genuine shock
"D'you think everyone has a weapon under the bed?" Asked Jack
"No, first night here I checked under my bed and there was nothing under it," replied
"Should we go and check my room?" Asked Jack
"Ok," agreed Matthias. Matthias and Jack left the room, Adam looked at the bed with a slight wince before leaving the room. Jack  searched under his bed and grabbed something flat and cold. When he tried to grab it it felt sharp along the edges; he tried again, and succeeded. He pulled it out. It was a CD that had been sharpened around the edges.
"He really is creative with his choice of weapons, isn't he?" He said, examining it
"Thanks, I do take pride in my creativity," said Duncan, who was lingering in the doorway
"What do you want now?" Asked Matthias frustratedly
"I just want to see how you're getting on, Mat found a guitar under Nate's bed. I made it specifically so it could deal a lot of damage in one swing," he said proudly
"Why are you proud of that?!" Asked Jack, who was trying to make the CD blunt on the desk present in his room
"Nevermind, you've got about 15 minutes left of the search, I'll let you get on."
"You're finally being helpful? That's a change..." Matthias said, resuming his search
"I could stay if you want..."
"No!" Yelled all three of them, and he walked out of the room to find the others searching.
"Should we have one last look around the crime scene?" Suggested Adam
"Yeah, sounds like a good idea," said Jack, putting the blunt CD in his pocket. They all headed back into Aaron's room, where Sean, Aaron and Felix were all searching as well
"You guys find anything of interest?" Asked Adam
"Not really..." Said Felix "but Aaron and Sean still seem pretty shaken up about it." Matthias looked at them with pity. They'd lost someone they were getting to know well, who they probably could've been best friends with. Sean seemed a bit better and was consoling Aaron, who had his face in his palms. Sean stood up and picked up the bat, ready to carry it to the trial hall.
"Time's up!" Yelled Duncan, seemingly out of nowhere "head to the lift at the other end of the hall and take your podiums!"
"'Ere we go..." Sighed Sean, helping Aaron up. His eyes were sore with tears.

There were podiums in a horseshoe shape with two big chairs in the gap between the podiums. There was a status on Mark's podium reading [PENDING...].
"Let the trial begin!" Laughed Duncan happily
"You're getting sick pleasure out of this, aren't you..." Snarled Aaron, gripping his podium with unnatural human strength
"Yes, get on with it!"
"Right, so we know that Mark was bludgened to death with a baseball bat in Aaron's room," started Mat, looking at Sean, who brought out the bat and put it on his podium
"Yeah..." He sighed, looking down at his feet shamefully
"And that when we got up there, the blood was still wet; meaning it was recent," added Jack
"Meaning that only the three that were absent and alive at the time could have done it," acknowledged Nate
"And Sean seems most suspicious since he wasn't as shocked as Aaron, who he seems equally close to..." Adam said, almost directly to him
"What?!" Sean started to protest
"Adam, you're not quite out of the blue yet, either," Matthew said
"Wha... What do you mean, why?" He said, his face dropping to a state of despair
"We found some blood in the bathroom. And a price of bloodied toilet paper under Marks head, well hidden though," said Felix, smiling at Aaron and Sean, both relived "there was also 'a' written on the wall, it's hard to read, but definetley there. The bathroom and toilet are separate, so he could've easily have tried writing the name of his killer on the wall before he passed out from blood loss" said Sean, his voice almost going higher pitched for no apparent reason
"And since Aaron was so traumatised by Mark's death, it couldn't have been him. Nobody is that good of an actor," added Matthias
"There's one thing that leads toward Adam being the killer... He witnessed Duncan talking about sending Mark, Aaron, Sean and Nate insane. Matthew, Mat, Nate and Felix weren't even in the kitchen at the time," Jack said
"So he was afraid of Mark going crazy... But why just Mark, Adam?" Asked Matthew
"He was afraid..." Said Aaron "The rules say you could only kill one person, if he killed Mark out of fear, he would've had me in his crosshair as well..."
"Why?" Asked Felix. Aaron remained silent
"Well, if Aaron won't tell you, I will. You guys kind of need to know why Mark, Aaron, Sean and Nate are, or were, in the most danger," offered Duncan
"We're listening..." Said Mat reluctantly. Sean and Nate both silently pleaded with Mat and Duncan with looks, but it didn't work.
"These four are special because four different 'elements' will take over their bodies if they're not careful. If Nathan gets too bored, his alter-ego known as Natemare will take him over, and he'll end up kidnapping and hiding people." Nate seemed to shrink down from his podium in shame after this. "Mark and Aaron are incredibly similar, their alter-egos rely on strength; if Aaron is too angry he'll become known as Yamibash, although, you've already encounter a small transformation based on his eyes reducing to just pupils. In Mark's case, it was fear that would shut his conscious down and Darkiplier would take over." Aaron avoided eye contact from anyone in the room, and just looked at Mark's podium, his pupils shrinking again. This made Duncan laugh "thanks for the demonstration, Aaron. Now, in Sean's case; if anything were to send him crazy, he'd become known as Antisepticeye. He'd cause pain, but wouldn't kill unless he's desperate. There, now you know why those four would be targeted; especially by someone who's catchprase is 'never trust Nanners'."
"So it was Adam, out of fear of being killed by one of us four..." Concluded Nate
"Well, time to cast your votes, who killed Mark?"
A pixelated screen lit up and eight small boxes flicked through pixel art of the remaining 'players' before all settling on Adam's face.
"Correct! Time for the execution!" Cackled Duncan. A robotic claw came out of an electric door that had opened in the wall. It clamped around Adam's neck and dragged him through the hall.
"C'mon, everyone! Don't want to miss it!" Duncan said, walking though the hallway. Everyone remaining reluctantly followed. Adam was in a room behind a sheet of glass the eight survivors stood behind. There was a title that said 'Murder Game'.
Adam was stood next to a group of people. He pulled out a knife that he hadn't had until inside the arena. He instantly killed two of them, before the last survivor pulled out a gun and with unnatural accuracy, shot right at his face three times, blowing flesh and bone all over the wall.
"Well, wasn't that just delightful?" Asked Duncan
"That was horrible..." Whispered Matthias
"So, let's get back to daily life!" Duncan said cheerily
"Sick bastard..." Said Sean.
