Corellia, 19 Years Before the Battle of Yavin

People say that looks can kill sometimes.

If anyone ever got on Han Solo’s nerves, they’d be dead in seconds from the look he gave them.

If anyone before he found out about his "gifts" told him that his life would literally turn into a flaming wreck, he simply would have laughed it off.

After he found out about his "gifts" after his tenth birthday, he knew better than that. Quite simply, he had woken up one morning to find himself sprawled on the floor on the bottom floor of the apartment, exactly in the same position he had been when he had fallen asleep in his bed three floors above.

Quite simply, there had been a droid that had been cleaning the house. The droid had kept telling him so often to take off his shoes, that Han had gotten so ticked that he had glared angrily at the droid, and suddenly lasers had shot from them and disintegrated the droid to ashes.

And finally, there had been the night of the forest fire just outside of a major rural community.

Han had been visiting one of his friends for the day when there had been several screams coming from the borders. Both of them had looked up to see the smoke billowing from the treetops.

Of course, Han’s friend decided to run for his life. Han, being the crazy "gifted" guy he was, stood his ground. If worse came to worst, he could always run through the houses to get to where he needed to go. Right now, he wanted to help everybody out of the village.

By the time he’d gone through five of the houses, he knew the village was out of luck.

Angrily, he looked at the forest fire billowing closer and raised his hands in defeat. "Fine!" he shouted. "You – "

His cry died out when the flames suddenly came to a flickering halt.

Confused, Han dropped his hands. The flames billowed right back up.

Quickly, Han put his hands back up. What in space? he wondered, then slowly pushed his hands through the air towards the ground. Slowly, the fire obeyed.

By the time that Han had his hands on the ground, the entire fire was out.

Not surprisingly, his friend had asked him never to come to his village again. Being the crazy "gifted" guy that he was, Han didn’t argue.

He had some mutations to control, after all.

Tatooine, 9 Years Before the Battle of Yavin

Luke Skywalker knew that his friends thought that he couldn’t do anything to help anyone in his life. Whenever he was with them, he agreed.

When he was at home, however, he would always find a glass of water to freeze to death and smash against the wall in frustration.

He had found out that he had the ability to make anything freeze right after he turned ten years old. He had woken up in the morning to see that he had frozen to his bed by some unknown force. When he had tried to sit up, he realized that he had pretty much been encased by ice.

The day hadn’t gotten much better from there, because that had also been the day that he had been given permission to go take a look outside of his aunt and uncle’s moisture farm’s borders.

He had been wandering aimlessly around, trying to decide what he should do when he had heard a slight scream behind him. Curious, he had decided to go walk in that direction.
