6:05 PM

A smile curved onto my lips as I ran a hand through my curled hair. I hummed under my breath before I grabbed my phone and walked down the stairs

Louis, who was working with one of my mother's branches, was having a party tonight. He'd invited the most important people to celebrate the most important day ever as he'd put it in, which was his birthday, but he'd combined it with Christmas and I was sure more than four hundred people were going to be showing up tonight

Mother had to attend, which meant I had to tag along as well but surprisingly, I didn't mind at all. I'd informed Niall ahead of time and basically forced him to come

As for the flowers I'd received a few days ago, I didn't have the heart to throw them away. They were stuffed into a vase by my bedside table

Mother scanned my outfit when I was in front of her, and she muttered something under her breath but didn't say anymore to it as we walked towards the car. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew one thing for sure. It was going to be extraordinary

When we had arrived at one of the mansions Louis owned, it was packed. There were cups littered everywhere and mother scoffed in disgust

"I don't want you drinking or even going close to one of those delinquents. Stay on the couch, actually" I raised my eyebrows slowly, so many words at the tip of my tongue but none escaping my parted lips as I knew I'd only get myself into something that I didn't want to deal with

I had to refrain from rolling my eyes so hard until they hurt. I parted ways with her immediately after we entered through the front door, aware of her burning eyes until I was out of her sight

I stood on my tippy toes, trying to ignore the harsh pushes I received from the crowd. I grinned wide as I spotted Niall in the middle of the dance floor, hands awkwardly to his sides as he watched the girl in front of him plafully take his arm and made him spin her, all the while he watched her with anger and annoyance clear in his crystal baby blue eyes

I quickly walked towards him, ruffling his hair as I approached him. He visibly sighed in relief, moving away from the now confused girl and pulled me into a hug, muttering, "For the first time ever, I'm glad your annoying ass showed up"

Offended, I smacked him upside the head harshly to which he winced and quickly muttered, "I'm kidding...holy fuck...I love you, I'm sorry. Damn you have one hell of an arm"

I pursed my lips, before grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the kitchen towards the so called delinquents, my mother warned me about

"You know what this reminds me of?" Niall laughed loudly, as I begged him to make me a drink as I was clues less to the things around me

"What?" A small, amused smile was placed on my lips as I watched him move around swiftly

"The first time we met" Niall cackled, throwing his head back as he reminisced the events, making me laugh along as well as I grabbed the drink from him hand mumbling a "thank you"

We walked back out to the main room just when I caught eyes with Louis being pulled left and right into hugs. A forced smile was on his face as he bitterly murmured some words and nodded along before quickly making his way towards me as soon as he got the chance

"Happy Birthday!" I grinned as he wrapped me up in a warm hug

"Thank you...I'm so glad you showed up. Harry should be upstairs if you need him" Louis gave me a genuine smile, and for a second I felt my own falter, and a pang in my heart as I looked down at the ground. As he noticed my lack of interest, he cleared his throat before shaking his head, "Sor-"
