Sarah's POV

"Do you want me to come with you baby?" Zack asked, walking into the bathroom where I was doing my hair.

I shook my head. "I don't think that would be a good idea." I'd be lucky if Alex would see me, she definitely wouldn't if I bought Zack along.

"Yeah I guess." He sighed, walking behind me and slipping his arm's around my waist. "I hope she see's you."

"Me too." I whispered. I really hoped she would because I needed to know what was going on, for everybody's sake.

"What do you think is wrong with her babe?" He asked, kissing my shoulder.

"Zack." I said, looking at him in the mirror. "I have absolutely no idea, I really don't."

"Yeah well I hope for Matt's sake you see her." He said. "He's fucking miserable."

"I know, but you know what, Alex is miserable Zack, I can guarantee it, and because of her past, what's happened before with that piece of shit, that's why she's doing this. I don't know exactly why, but he's the reason, he's even controlling her from jail, somehow he's doing this."

"Maybe." He agreed.

"No Zack, no maybe. Alex would never break up with Matt, she just wouldn't, you only had to look at them to know they were happy together, no I'm telling you it's him and I'm going to fucking kill that prick myself if I have to."

"Sarah." He murmured, turning me around and pulling me into his arms. "Do you have to sound so violent?"

"He's been ruining her life for too long, finally she found somebody she could be happy with and he ruined that too." I stepped away from him. "And I'm not letting that happen Zack, I won't."

"God I love you." He murmured kissing me. "This is what I love about you, you care about everyone."

I smiled. "They're my family Zack."

He smiled and nodded. "They are."

"Now let me finish getting ready so I can go and see her."

"Okay okay." He smiled, kissing my nose and leaving.

I went back to doing my hair and thinking. I was going to see Alex and I was going to get to the bottom of this. She was going to tell me, I was going to make sure of that.

I went into our bedroom and pulled on my shoes, then I grabbed my phone. There was someone I wanted call.

"Hey Matt." I said when he answered. "It's Sarah."

"Oh hey Sarah." He said softly and you could just tell by the tone of his voice he was hurting.

"How are you?" As soon as I said it I knew it was a dumb thing to say.

"Keeping busy." He mumbled.

"Yeah Zack told me you guy's are organising a tour." It was a stupid time to do it, but I realised Matt was trying get his mind off of Alex.

"Yeah." He said and I'd never heard anyone sound so unenthusiastic in my life.

"Anyway I'm just calling to let you know I'm going to see Alex."

"What? She'll see you?" He asked, sounding pissed.

"Well I don't know Matt but I will be seeing her, whether she wants to see me or not."

"Oh okay."

"Yeah, so don't worry Matt, I'm going to sort this mess out." I assured him.

"Sarah." He asked quietly. "Can you just tell her I miss her, tell her I love her."

I closed my eye's, feeling his pain. "Of course I will."

I hung up, grabbing my bag and heading out to the living room.

"I'm going." I told Zack.

He smiled, hugging me. "Good luck babe." He murmured kissing me.

"Everything will be fine." I told him, I guess I was trying to reassure the both us.

I headed out in to the car and started the drive to the hospital. I had to concentrate on the road and it was hard, my mind kept drifting off, but finally I made it to the hospital without causing an accident.

I took a deep breath and headed inside, catching the elevator up to the floor. I stepped out and looked around, it was so quiet, there was nobody around.

I made my way over to the desk and as I approached, two nurses looked at me.

"I'm here to see Alexandria." I told them, attempting to sound confident.

"Your name?" One asked.

"Sarah Wilson." And I watched as the other pulled out what appeared to be a list. I was guessing it was a list of names that Alex didn't want to see.

"Well." She said smiling after looking at the list. "Let me check if Alex is up to visitors."

Excellent, my name was not on the list and I watched as she walked to a door, knocking softly before entering.

"So how is she?" I asked the remaining nurse.

She nodded. "She's recovering quickly."

"That's good."

"She'll probably be going home in a couple of days."

A couple of day's. I needed to sort this out and I needed to do it quickly. I did not want Alex going home, by herself, she'd spent most of her life in seclusion and I just knew that's what would happen again if she went home now, after pushing everyone away.

"Oh." I said. "But tell me, how is she, how is she really?"

"Terrible." She whispered in a way that I could barely hear, but I had heard, I heard her say it.

I nodded, watching the other nurse exit the room and approach me. "You can go in, but not for long, Alex really isn't up to visitors."

"Oh really." I snapped. "But she can go home in a couple of days?"

I walked to the door, letting that question hang in the air.

I stopped, taking a deep breath and knocked lightly on the door. I didn't wait for a reply I just opened the door, walking in, then closing it behind me.

I turned to the bed. "Alex." I said softly, then I stopped.

Oh god, she looked terrible. She was curled up on her side just staring out the window. Her eye's were red and she looked exhausted.

"Oh Alex." I whispered walking over to the bed. "What are you doing?"

She didn't answer, she just continued to stare out the window, but I watched, I watched as her face crumpled and tears ran down her cheeks. Alex was hurting too, it was obvious, and it was tearing her apart.
