Training

Sheena's POV

"What the hell are you doing here?" He said angrily.

He was wearing denim shorts and was bare feet with a sword in his hand. He was covered in sweat, he must be practicing a lot. But he is looking so.....

Shut the hell up Sheena!!

I ignored his question and thought to look around. To my surprise, sun was up here and it was shining bright but it wasn't hot, the climate was cool. The ground was grassy and and only one part of the ground was having sand. 

There were many people, wearing armors and with sword, practicing. Some practicing archery, some were throwing spear. Everyone looked busy. Then I felt someone holding me by my elbow and turned me around, just to meet Arjun's eyes. He clenched his jaw and said," Answer my question, Sheena." He paused and studied my features. His features softened and he continued," you might hurt yourself here with this swords and other stuff. What are you doing here?" 

Before I could answer a voice came from behind, " I have called her."it was Abhimanu. Arjun's gaze shifted from me to Abhimanu. He backed off from me and said," don't you think it's quite early for her to train in this stuff. I mean she is quite weak."

"Arjun, if you remember we have ceremony in two months and we have to train her. It could be possible that Demitri will attack on that ceremony and that could be our chance." Abhimanu looked at me and said,"Come Sheena, we will start with the sword." And he turned on his heels and gestured me to follow.

He took me to a room filled with weapons, swords, rifles, bow and arrows and even machine guns. I went inside and stood before the sword section. 

"Choose which ever sword you want to use." Abhimanu said from the door. I nodded and looked over the rows of swords.

My eyes started searching a perfect sword for me. There were many kind of swords, some were of gold, some were having diamonds but it wasn't impressive for me. Suddenly I saw a red cloth wrapped around something behind the rows. I took the swords aside and went to grab it. I opened that red cloth gently and threw it away.

There was a sword in it. The moment my hands touched that sword I felt like it is made for me. It was of silver color with beautiful engravings on its handle and on its blade. There was a giant blue gem stone on it. I felt as if electricity is running through my spine, I felt strong, stronger than ever.

"This is it. You are mine!!" I muttered under my breath. 

I took it with me to Abhimanu. He was still standing at the door, looking at me. I reached to him and raised the sword which I chose. He looked at and smiled.

"Where did you found it?? Whatever I knew you would chose it if you would found it out." he stated. His brown eyes sparkled. I think he is Arjun's dad. I mean they look so similar in many ways. Like they always know what I am going to do before even I do that thing.

"How did you know that??" I asked.

"Well, its pretty easy. It was of princess Myra. It was the same sword with which she killed the demon."

"You mean Maximilian, the person whom she loved." I tried to show him that know at least something.

"So you know that story, huh?" He chuckled a little and continued, " I really don't believe it. I always thought that it is all rumors. " he shrugged.

We than moved to the that part of the ground where there was sand. There was two or three people who were practicing. I stood in the middle of the ground and and looked very carefully to the practices of others. There were sounds of metal hitting another metal. There I saw Linda and I must say she is damn good at sword fighting.

Abhimanu stood at least one meter away. He said," Sheena now do what I say. Think this sword as a part of your arm....."
He gave me many tips and instructions. We practiced till I felt that I can use it properly. I noticed that the sun was still shining and we are practicing for about two to three hours. Maybe magic.

"Sheena, you are quite good at this. Now I think you should try a real fight. I know its quite early but you should know how to fight" Abhimanu said, I think he is impressed of my fighting skills. Thanks to all the historic movies.

"Yeah why not? Let's give it a try." I said excitedly. I always wanted to fight with a real sword.

"Linda!! I want you to come here." He shouted and Linda came running. Thankfully she wasn't wearing any of her short skirts, finally!! She was wearing an armor and was having a sword in her hand. As soon as she came Abhimanu said,"I want both of you to have a sword practice and remember she is a beginner so please be a little gentle with her."

"As you say, Abhimanu." She nodded but I know this is not going to be gentle AT ALL!!!

Everyone stopped their practices and surrounded the sandy ground. Though I looked like I don't care but from inside I was shaken up badly. My first fight with sword and that too with Linda. Can something happen worst than this?

"Ready!!" Abhimanu said. We both nodded in unison.

"Fight!!!" He yelled.

I became alert. I don't have to attack, I think I should just do the defense.

We both were moving in circles, she wanted an opportunity and I wanted to avoid. "Afraid to attack, princess toad." She is trying to break me but I am strong. 

"Well, I am not. I think you are afraid." I replied sternly.

"I am not afraid of anyone" she said before she came sprinting towards me swinging her sword in air. Before she could hit me and I dodged.

"You are trying to avoid me, afraid that I might damage your ugly face" I can feel anger building up in me but I have to control my emotions.

She again leaped forward towards me but this time I stopped the blow with my sword. Everyone was looking at us with interest, they all wanted to know who wins, princess or want-to-be princess. I slid below her hand so now we standing opposite to each other. 

The sound of our sword was the only thing I could hear. Every blow of our sword was heavy. We than backed off. We both looked at each other's eyes and than I did something which was not in my strategy. I launched myself on her with my sword. I gave away all my strength to hit her. I was quite quick and she wasn't able to defend herself so she fell flat on the ground.

I succeeded!!! Everyone started hooting and clapping. I turned to face all the audience. But suddenly everyone went silent. I turned to look and saw Linda standing upright. Before I could act she ran to me and her sword slashed my upper right arm. Blood started rushing out of my arm. I moaned in pain. No sooner my whole arm was covered with blood and started to drip down on the ground.

She came again to hit and I wasn't in the position to attack. Her sword was just inches apart. I closed my eyes and thought this is my end. But nothing hit me.

I opened my eyes. I saw Arjun's palm on the Blade of the sword. It was just inches apart from my neck. Blood drops were dripping down on the ground but his face was ineffective of the wound. He threw the sword away and turned to Abhimanu and said,

"Sheena has done enough training." He stated. He put his arm around my waist and picked me up by my knees. He made his way through the crowd and I just wrapped my arms around his neck. I was feeling weak and dizzy due to the blood loss.

"No one can harm you." I hear him muttering before I blacked out.
