Gauri texted me that he was meeting me so we could go and eat somewhere.
"Hi. Thanisha right?" Fara asked.
"Uummm ya,"I said.
"So your the girl who likes Shehry?" She asked.
How am I supposed to respond to that?
"Well I mean.." I was saying but she interrupted me.
"Listen here you b*tch. I know you like him so I'm warning you to stay away from him. I swear if I ever see you around him.."she was saying but also got interrupted.
"That's no way to talk to her,"Gauri said.
"Who are you?" Fara asked.
"None of your business,"he said.
He took my arm and took me away from there.
"Sorry you had to deal with that,"he said.
"It's okay,"I said.
"Come on. Let's go for lunch," he said.
It was the weekend and to top it off it was a three day weekend.
Yet I still had to see that girl.
"This isn't fair,"he said.
"Life's not fair," I said.
"I'm so sick of people saying that. Life's not perfect for anyone, that true. But everyone gets fair chance to play the game, don't they? Some of us are luckier than others. We all have a chance to make something out of nothing,"he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Let me put this easier for you kiddo,"he said.
I just gave him a really look.
"Some people are just Bending the rules," he said.
