Dreams

A figment of thought
Of cruel design
That shows me things that can never be mine.

In a dream I can fly
high in the sky
Untouched by the world
By hurt and greed
Or any other malicious deed
Oh what power
They conceal.

The power to save
To forever be brave
Then we lie them to rest
In our memory grave.

When we wake
With each breath we take
We pull ourselves together for society's sake.

Are the sensations fake
Is that what they take?
Control of our feelings and actions to remake?

Falling in a pit
Or a bright campfire lit
Can be seen when you dream of it.
Those who make wishes
Will tell you if
You wish them a sweet dream of it.

Oh the glories of a dream will seem like a gift.
To the children who depend on it.

Sweet Dreams!
