Chapter 3

Anna's POV

"Ok, focus Anna. There's a test coming up and you can't fail like last time." I said to myself.

Mr. Freeman was reviewing a part that I already knew so I took this as an opportunity to "observe" Eric. I slowly turn my head ever so slightly in his direction. He ran his fingers through his hair, a chill went down my back.

"ANNA!" Mr. Freeman yelled.

"Yes?.....sir?" I replied

He glared at me "this is your one and only warning, pay attention!!"

"Sorry sir, won't happen again" I said looking down.

I don't understand why all the teachers hate me so much....all of a sudden I heard a scoff and a chuckle. It came from Eric.

Eric's POV

So this chick is crazy, and stupid. Just my luck. I scoffed and chuckled to myself and continued "taking notes". Unlike her, I've mastered the technique of pretending to take notes. I'll just have a buddy of mine get the answer key from Mr. Freeman and I'll be good.....Steven tapped my shoulder and handed me a note.

"Party at my place Friday night. Be there"

I nodded my head and smiled, I know exactly who I'm gonna take with me. I just have to figure out how to get her to come.....

Anna's POV

I'm doing pretty good at focusing now, but I can't help but feel someone is watching me. I've felt it all day. When Mr. Freeman turns to write something on the board, I turned around. I saw Sam looking at me. I smiled and so did he. It must have just been him. I've known Sam my whole life, he's my best guy friend. He mouthed to meet him after class. I mouthed OK back. Now, time to take some notes for once.

Mystery POV

Ok after class I'll try to convince Anna of how much of a douche Eric really is although Emily's tried many times before and that didn't turn out well. She just needs to keep her options open and she'll find someone closer *ahem*. Anna turned around, I smiled. She smiled back and I mouthed to meet me after class. She mouthed OK back. Hopefully this works...

Emily's POV

I flipped my pencil over and over again. I can't keep taking care of Anna like this. She's gotta get over Eric. Sam said he'll try to talk to her but I don't know. Mrs. Matthews writes a problem on the board for us to do. I'm one of the few people who actually want to get an education.

"Emily, do you have the answer?" Mrs. Matthews asks.

"Yeah, x=9" I replied and continued flipping my pencil

"Very good" Mrs. Matthews said and preceded to tell at some football star to pay attention

I rolled my eyes and thought about when I told Eric off in the cafeteria. I said the normal stuff I usually say but this time I saw something in his eyes, something different. It kind of made me feel bad for him.....but it was probably nothing. He should feel bad for Anna by what he's putting her through.
