Trouble Is Coming

#Chapter4

I finished my history studying and said goodbye to Carter and Cole.

My mum texted me saying that I should come to the hospital around about now.

I realise I didn't bring my car with me because Ryder drove me to school so now I'm just outside of school trying to figure out who to call.

"Need a ride?" I hear a voice say from behind me.

I turn around and see Max Howell. I've never actually talked to Max.

He kind of keeps to himself. I think his only friend is Adam Norman. Then again, I never take an interest in either of them.

"Um, no thanks. I don't want to take up your time. I'll just walk. It's only 40 minutes away." I say, realising how stupid that sounded.

He laughs and says, "Well it will be 20 minutes if you let me drive you. I was leaving anyway."

"Of course. Thank you." I say.

He smiles and says, " Follow me." I follow him to his car and get in.

"So where are we heading?" He asks, driving out of the school car park.

"To the hospital please," I say.

"Sure."

I wonder why he didn't ask me why, but maybe he didn't want to push it.

I take a glance at him and he has bright blue eyes, dark brown bushy hair and a black lip ring on his left side of his lip.

We arrive at hospital quick because Max was driving really fast.

He parks his car and gets out.

I don't what he's doing at first but then in a blink of an eye, he is opening my door.

"Thanks," I say.

"Your welcome." He replies.

"So I'll see you around?" I ask him.

He smiles.

Damn, he looks hot when he smiles.

I smile back and walk into the hospital . I take a quick look back and see Max still standing there so I wave. He waves back and then gets into his car.

Well, that was interesting.

"Oh honey, you made finally." I hear my mum say.

I turn around and hug her.

"Now I need you to talk to Mr. Lee in room 275 because you are the only one he seems to remember." She says.

"Strange, but okay," I say to her.

I make my way to the elevator and press the button level 3.

Don't get me wrong, Mr. Lee is a wonderful man, but he seems to only remember me and everything that I tell him.

He says that I remind him of his wife when he first met her, and he loves the sound of his wife's voice.

Unfortunately, his wife passed about 2 years ago.

He calls me Little Baby Blue because of my eyes, kind of creepy but it's sweet.

I knock on room 275's door and hear a come in.

"Good Afternoon Mr Lee," I say to him when I enter.

His eyes light up and he says, " Ah, good evening my Little Baby Blue. Come sit."

I sit down on the chair next to him.

"So how's school. Did you do well on that science test last week?" He asks.

"Of coarse Mr. Lee, I nailed it!" I say excitingly.

"That's my girl."

A soft knock was at the door.

"Come in," I say.

"Mikey you need to have your lunch for today." A nurse comes in with a tray of food.

"No! I'm not hungry thank you very much." Mr. Lee says to her.

The nurse, Julia , look at me and says, "please Arabella, he only actually eats when you are here."

I smile and take the tray of food from Julia and say, " Don't worry, I got this."

She smiles and walks out of the room.

"Well," I say, " If your not going to eat this beautiful green jelly, then I'm just going to have to!"

"No!", Mr. Lee says taking it from me, " I'm starving!"

"Then why Don't you just eat what they provide?" I ask him.

"I only enjoy Alice's cooking but now she's gone. But whenever you're here it seems to taste just as good." He says finishing the jelly.

"Even if you don't like the food, you still have to eat to keep yourself healthy," I say.

He laughs and says, "You sound just like her."

I smile.

"Arabella it's time to go, it's already 8:30pm." Mum says walking into the room.

I didn't even realise it was dark outside.

"That's my fault, Aubrey, I also keep her a little too late." Mr. Lee says.

"Oh, it's fine, Mikey. I'm sure she has had a blast." Mum says closing the curtains.

"Defiantly ." I agree.

"I'll be in the car with dad, Arabella," Mum says.

"Okay, I'll be down in a minute," I tell her.

She smiles and walks out of the room.

"Goodnight, Mr. Lee. I'll be back next week." I say to him.

"I'll be waiting my Little Baby Blue." He says.

I kiss him on the cheek.

I was just about to walk out of the room when Mr. Lee says, "Oh and say thank you to Max for dropping you off."

"But I never told you about Max," I say confused.

He turns off his lamp and says, " Goodnight Blue."

I smile and say, " Night, Mr.Lee."

I close the door and walk to the car. I still don't know how he new about Max.

Maybe I told him and just don't remember.

We arrive home at about 9:00pm and I have a quick dinner and then go to sleep.

A girl needs her beauty sleep. Well, that's what I've heard.
