Turns out the girl had a name. Lea. Lea Williams. The new 'it' couple.

But I refused to acknowledge the fact they were everywhere. I don't need Shawn to make me a stronger, better person. In fact I've gotten over him. I don't even like him anymore. At least I think so. I have had months to recover. He wasn't worth my time.

Prom was coming up. I was going to go with Shawn but then it happened. So I'm stuck dateless as of now. Lucas and Noelle were going together because Lucas finally got the balls to ask her out. Ryder is dateless too but he'll probably go with his girlfriend.

I hear someone downstairs and I see Noelle and Lucas in the kitchen eating my cereal.

"Where's Ryder"I ask noticing he isn't there.

"He's in your guest bathroom. He's been in there for a while you might want to go check on him,"Lucas answers.

I walk to the guest bathroom and knock on the door.

"Hey Ryder are you okay?"I ask.

I heard a few sniffles on the other side and he answered with a shaky yes.

I didn't believe him so I check to see if the door was locked. It wasn't. I walk in and see him on the floor in tears.

"She broke up with me,"He said referring to his girlfriend, well ex now.

"Oh no. Why?"I asked rushing over to him.

"I didn't ask her to prom quick enough,"He says.

"Who does that?"I ask.

"I don't know. I guess she does,"He says.

"I'm sorry,"I say sitting with him on the bathroom floor.

We don't talk we just sit there. A few words slip out of his mouth in frustration. I could see where he's coming from. Who just breaks up because they don't get asked to prom soon enough?

"I have an idea,"I say after brainstorming.

"What is it?"He asks looking up and sniffling.

"We could go to prom together. I was supposed to go with Shawn but you know what happened. And you were supposed to go with Cara but this happened. And I want to go to prom badly,"I say.

"Thanks for the offer but I'm going to try to get her back,"He answers with a sudden cockiness.

"If you need a prom date I'll be here,"I say.

I realize Shawns tour is ending in 2 weeks which means 2 weeks till I see him home for a while.

But I'm a stronger person than I was before. I don't need to depend on a guy for stability. I'm doing just fine on my own.

Ryder gets up. I quickly follow. He hugs me.

"Thanks for being a good friend,"He says during the hug.

"I'm always here,"I reply.

I feel my phone vibrate in my butt pocket.

I look down and see a blocked number calling. This could either be Shawn or the creepy kid who stares at my hair in algebra.

I decided to just let it ring out so I would get a voicemail so I could see who it is without having to talk to them.

1 new voicemail.

I click play and hear a familiar voice on the other end. This person is definitely not in my algebra class anymore.

"Lennox I know you let me go but I can't let you go. Please call me back,"He says on the other end.

I keep my promise to myself and stay out of contact with him. I don't want anything to do with him at all.

I didn't even notice Ryder left the room to go to the kitchen until I showed up in the kitchen and see everyone raiding my fridge. Do their mothers ever feed them?

"Why don't we go to Toronto for the weekend?"Lucas asks.

"YASSS BISH,"Ryder screams.

"Yea cool,"I say trying to do the opposite of Ryder.

"So it's set. Toronto for the weekend. We are leaving Friday and coming back Sunday at noon mkay? Mkay,"Lucas says.

"Ok why don't you go let your mother's feed yall so I have enough food until my parents come back from their business trip,"I say showing them to the door.

"Why don't you just let us stay here,"Noelle says.

"Because I need food for another 2 weeks and a half,"I say. I only have enough grocery money for 1 more trip. I separate my regular money and my grocery money because my mom gives my the grocery money and my regular money I get by working at a donut shop.

"K well we will see you tomorrow at school. Don't forget to do Mrs. Wilson's homework and then send me the answers,"Noelle says walking out of the door with everyone else.
