March 20th, 1972
Dear diary,
The cops could not find the 'bad person' who killed grandma and grandpa. They said there was absolutely no DNA samples they could take. I kept hearing them talk about mysteries.
The news was on the radio today at breakfast and I tried to listen to it. I don't remember all of it, but I do remember some details. "Anonymous killer on the loose?" "There's a murderer out there, but no one knows who it is." "A man—the murderer of his wife, dead in jail, the man's in-laws also found dead."
Mommy visited me today. It has been a while since she last saw me.
She said that she is sorry for getting mad and that she wants to take me away from my Aunt and Uncle's house. She said she doesn't like or trust them.
I told her that I was happy living with them. If I can't live with my Mom, I will live with them. But she doesn't agree with me.
