Trust

And I was too afraid to believe you, too afraid to get to know you.

What should happen if you're more than the smile and the laugh I once percieved? What happens if you're the same as them, so ready to turn on me?

Why wouldn't you, after all. I've given you no reason to stay, and all the more insentive to leave. And not just walk away; completely leave.

Due to the words and the hurt I can't believe you. Liars are too commonplace, and it's hard to determine who they are until it's too late.

It's not you, so please don't take it personally. It isn't you I can't trust - it's everyone.

You say that I can tell you anything, and it's nice you'd like to listen. But "can" and "will" are two very different things.

After all, I've been given no good reason to trust you.

... But some things can do without justification.
