As Shinji picks himself off the ground, he realizes that he is not only outside. He did something without the help of others, which almost brings him to tears. When in actuality, the reason he almost cries is that great glowing orb that plagues his sky. Yeah you read right, his sky. Shinji decided to let humanity still live so it's totally his world now. That makes complete sense.
Anyways Shinji begins timidly moving to the nearby bus station. As he nears the bus station he notices another person standing at the station. So in the bravest manor Shinji could possibly muster, he runs away from the station thats been invaded by someone else. Unfortunately for our big brave marshmallow he runs into someone else, which causes him to shriek like the scared little fuck-boi he is. Shinji at this moment can only hope that who ever he ran into isn't a certain special alien snow flake that happens to love him, but it looks like luck is not on Shinjis side today.
(Au: but of a cliff hanger never hurt anyone. Specially when its in a story like this where I'll update in like ten secs sooooo.)
