Secret desires,
And long lost fears.
What life requires,
Through all our tears.
Forgive my cynical disposition
If you truly may,
Take interested in my condition,
And hear what I have to say.
Life seems so prolonged,
And death so complete.
For in the night I have longed
For more than food to eat.
A purpose for living
I do hope to see
Rather than pain and misgiving
Which come natural to me.
But hope seems short-sighted
And love is soft-spoken
How could it be what has lighted
The path of those, whose life was not broken?
The truth then must be
That their lives are broken indeed
Yet God fixes their lives without a fee,
And he helps those in need.
So brokenness isn’t so bad
When God is by you side
When you lose all you had
He’s a friend in whom you can confide.
