But you see your kiss left a trace

the type that makeup couldn't cover

the kind of mark my friends started asking about

the kind that left me inside for days

and I  guess I used to think it was my fault

I mean you were stressed

work was putting pressure on you

and you didn't seem to get much sleep

and I know I can be a bit slow with getting dinner ready sometimes

.....

but I've realised it will only take one more

hit to the floor

against the cupboard

or upon my face

and I won't be here any more

so as blue as I am black
