If I didn't have a killer headache I would have laughed about the déjà vu. I wake up in a bed that is not mine but this time I was alone which didn't really mean much.    I look around and notice the white long curtains covering the shimmering sunlight. I sit up straight when I feel something touching my feet but apparently I was moving too fast because I was suddenly feeling very light headed and everything was spinning.

I place my palm on my forehead as I groan in irritation and pain.

Stupid Russian vodka.

Just as I was about to curse, my attention gets pulled towards my feet where a bulldog puppy was lazily looking up at me curiously.

I cock my head to the side and look at it.

When I was little my parents gave me a little Retriever as a birthday gift and to say I was ecstatic was an understatement. I'd didn't have many friends, since I had a very sheltered life as an only child. I named him Poochy because as a child I always wanted to have Poochy from Super Mario Bros, and even though the Retriever looked nothing like the original Poochy, I decided to create my own Poochy.

For the longest time he was my best friend but only after a few years he was taken from me because he was ill and my parents said they couldn't afford to keep him, but it wasn't until a year when I find out the truth.

I was miserable for the longest time because he was my only friend back then, my sanctuary, my everything.

A smile tucks at my lips as the little puppy opens its mouth to yawn while crawling closer to me, getting tangled in the sheets.

Reaching towards the puppy, I lift it up, unveiling it from the tangled mess and cradle it on my arms.

Carefully I step out of the bed to notice that I was definitely not wearing the clothes that I wore the previous night. Covering my upper body to my knees was a large, black shirt with HOMIES printed across it.

How did they manage to get me into that?

My frown turns into a careless shrug as I hear the puppy whimpering in my arms. Balancing the dog in one arm I scratch it under the chin to calm it down causing it to make a sound of satisfaction as if it was waiting for me to do that.

With light steps I make my way towards the door and reach out to the handle as to open it when someone is faster than me pushing it at me making me fall flat on my butt and since I was holding the puppy in my arms I wasn't able to catch my head during the fall.

Falling on your head and heaving a killer headache don't mix well. It's a miracle that I was still conscious with the pain I felt. It's like someone was piercing my head with tiny little needles all at the same time.

I open my eyes to have an unclear vision of Val in front of me. "Are you alright?"

I groan in response at his loud voice penetrating my ears. "Shut up. Lower your voice will you?"

I blink a few times trying to get rid of the unclear vision, which takes me a few moments to success in. That's when I notice the puppy looking at me with its tongue out and dare I say looking concerned.

Sitting up with one elbow I lift the puppy closer to my face with my other arm and give it a peck on its nose which it returns with a sloppy kiss all over my cheek.

I smile at the puppy but I was still in pain, my head pulsating and my entire backside hurting and aching.

"Here let me..." Val trails off as he wraps one arms around my back and the other under my knees to lift me up.

Under any other circumstances I would have protested but right now I was in too much pain to argue.

Placing me on the middle of the bed he grabs the sheets and pulls it over me and the puppy.
