November was the transition from Halloween to Christmas.  The month of Thanksgiving, the month of snow.

The last day of school before Thanksgiving break, I saw him in the Hallway. He stood there, his hair perfectly messed up and his eyes bright. I couldn't help but think of how things were this summer. The lazy days spent in my bed, our bodies intertwined while soft music played. Evenings around a small fire, talking about how we wanted things to be. Nights lying in the wet grass, looking at the stars. I couldn't help but think, again, that he was being unfair  here.

He waves at me. He looks so genuinely sorry in that moment, that I have no choice but to wave back.

That was the last I saw of him that month. The rest of the month was filled with spending time with my family, but I couldn't help but wonder how his holidays were going.
