Hikari was placed under close supervision both by adults and the watchful eye of her boyfriend Matthew. They spent a lot of time together and because in the space of three months Matthew hadn't had a mental breakdown and hurt anyone, Matthew was allowed to go into school. Now, normally that would have meant a happy ending, but there's a little more to the story than that. This part of the story takes places after their GCSE year when they are both 16 years old. So, four years after the story so far.

Hikari approached Matthew's house and knocked on the door. Matthew answered the door and welcomed her in. They sat on the new sofa in the living room and Hikari pushed her hair behind her ears.

"This time I have something you can keep and take away with you." The girl said, pulling a small package out of her bag.

"I feel bad, I didn't get you anything." Matthew said, keeping his hands in his laps and his eyes focused on hers. Hikari burst into fits laughter and it took a while for Matthew to be able to calm her down and work out why she was laughing.

"Did you seriously forget that it was your birthday today?" She giggled.

"Of course not! I would so not forget my own birthday!" He exclaimed, clearly this was news to him

"That's a lie!" She laughed, hitting him lightly on the shoulder.

"Well, happy birthday me I guess." He shrugged.

"Are you not excited? Oh well, here's your present." She handed him the package and instructed him to open it. He did so and the object that came out of the paper wrapping was cold to the touch. It was made out of glass and it was the colour of the midnight sky, with white specks resembling stars scattered on the inside. The word "Matthew" was written inside it as if it had been engraved by magic.

"It's so beautiful, thank you." Matthew said, laying it down on the coffee table in front of them. It was the size of his palm and about an inch and a half thick; completely round with no sharp edges.

"My dad sure works a wonder on making things out of glass." Hikari said, overjoyed that he had liked her present.

"Your dad made this? That's so cool; I wish I knew who my parents were." Matthew sighed, but with a smile on his face he couldn't wipe off.

"I'm sorry, I'm sure you'll find them someday. Even if you don't though, it won't change who you are or who you are to be, and I'll always love you." Hikari said, grabbing his hand, but the moment didn't last long. Daniel appeared by the fireplace which had otherwise been completely forgotten and told Matthew that it was time for him to find out who he was.

"You have the key, you have the love, and you have the heart and soul. You are now ready to see what I have been hiding from you for so long. Bring the girl along, she deserves to know, this really will test her love for you. Let's go." Daniel grabbed the other hand and pulled him up.

"Oh my goodness, what is going on?!" Hikari exclaimed as Matthew flew out of the sofa.

"We have somewhere to be!" Matthew yelled, and he rushed out of the front door, clutching the glass that Hikari had just given him. Hikari was unsure, but she followed after him, worried that he was having another psychotic episode.

"Matthew! Slow down please!"

"I can't!" He shouted behind him, disappearing around another corner. She sprinted after him even with a searing pain in her stomach

"Damn stitches." She cursed under her breath as she finally caught up to him. He had a manic smile on his face and Hikari grew more and more concerned as he didn't respond to her calling his name. She pulled her phone out of her pocket to call Derek.

"This is where the plane crashed, isn't it Daniel?" Matthew said suddenly, Hikari froze with her phone in her hand.

"Matthew?" Hikari tried again to get his attention. Matthew turned to look at her but didn't say anything. His smile grew even wider as he opened his hand to reveal the glass, now glowing slightly orange.

"Will you come with me?" He said finally, reaching for her hand.

"Come where? Matthew, are you okay? You don't seem like yourself." She started scrolling through her contacts on her phone until she found Derek.

"To space." He said, pointing up. There was a strange shape appearing in the sky, only just visible to the naked eye.

"Matthew, what is that?" Hikari said, shaking.

"My way home." He held her hand and she noticed that it was cold like icy metal. Before Hikari could make another move, everything before her eyes went completely black and the only thing she could feel was metal in her right hand in the shape of Matthew's hand.

"Don't worry, you'll be safe." Leinad assured, and Hikari couldn't even scream. She was hyperventilating and holding the hand tightly, making sure it wouldn't disappear and it was holding her hand firmly, telling her she was safe.

"Hikari, I'm here, and I love you." Matthew said, trying not to sound as scared as she seemed.
