I'll be back soon, okay?

I sighed as I replied a simple response.

Miss you already.

Meanwhile, I was daydreaming.

I jumped back to reality as I heard my phone ring. Eagerly answering, knowing it was him by the ringtone.

"Hey."

I heard him sigh and I could almost hear the disappointment in his voice.

"Hey don't be like that. It's not like I'm going to be gone forever."

"Yeah but you'll be gone the rest of the summer."

He paused for a moment and said;

"Alexis, I really do miss you."

"I miss you too."

"I gotta go now, boarding the plane."

"Have fun in Japan."

"Wish you were here with me."

And then I heard the familiar click I had heard many times.

Laying back down in bed, I tried not to think about what I would do without his facetimes and phone calls everyday. I knew I wasn't only going to miss him. I was going to miss us.

For the next couple of days I tried to keep myself occupied.

Cats, guitar, even chores.

But everything I did, everything I tried to do, whenever I would pause.

I would always think of you.
