Chapter 2

| Lydia Moore |

I lay on my bed my eyes staring at the white wall, covered with posters, still perplexed about what happened.

Why?

I groan in frustration and fall back on the bed.

Why?

It's just not fair.

Not at all.

I don't want to go with Alpha Marshall, everything but that.

I'm so lost in thought that I don't hear my mother opening the door.

"Lia, sweetie?"

"Mum," I mumble and I grab a pillow covering my tear stained face with it so that she can't see my bloodshot eyes.

"Oh sweetie," she sighs with a broken voice and enters my room, sitting down on my bed with me.

"Dad is working on it, but that Alpha Marshall is a stubborn man," my mom whispers.

"Why?"

"I don't now, Lia, I really don't know."

"It's so unfair," I cry and I lean closer to my mom.

"My baby, everything will be fine," she says softly while brushing my hair with her hand.

The next minutes we stay in silence, and I slowly close my eyes, hoping this is just a really bad dream.

"Eva?"

"Upstairs!"

The heavy footsteps of my father make it closer to the door and I little bit of hope starts growing.

He silent enters the room and sits also down at the end of my bed.

"He wants to speak with Lia," he tells my mum with a lost glint in his tired eyes.

--

With clenched jaws I watch Alpha Marshall, his lips in an evil grin.

"No," I then say my arms stubbornly crossed.

His grin disappears and is replaced with a cold look.

"No?"

"Yes, no, do I have to spell it out for you? N-o."

In one swift motion he is of his chair and has my pushed against the wall.

"So un-respectful," he whispers, disapproval lacing every inch of his words. He puts his left hand on my throat, holding me only with his right.

I swallow trying not to give him the satisfaction of seeing my fear.

"You're such an ego-" I start but I'm interrupted by a loud growl.

"Be careful what you say Lydia," he sneers and fastens the grip on my precious throat. The pressure starts to get to me and I begin to feel a little light headed.

"Can't breathe," I manage to choke out and I try to get his hand of me arms, my legs kick in thin air trying to get away. All the while Alpha Marshall has an amused expression on his face.

"So?"

"No," is the last thing I say before my eyes get heavy and they fall shut.

--

"Who is that daddy?"

"Nobody, go play and leave me alone"

"Can I play with her?"
