"I really can't stay..."

The tune rolled off the wind with ease and Conroy looked for it's source

"This evening has been-"
"...Been hoping that you'd drop in..."
"...So very nice..."
"...I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice..."

That's when he saw her. She must have been only 6 years old. Her small frame trudged through the snow with zeal, throwing snow and grinning despite the cold. Her nose was red and her cheeks had a light dusting of pink that covered her pale skin. Wisps of brown hair stuck out of the fluffy hood and shined a reddish gold when caught in the light. The grin on her almond shaped face revealed white, slightly crooked, teeth. Her eyes were a blue, steal-grey color that mesmerized him and her voice held a light tone that didn't hit all the right notes in the song, but that was part of its appeal.
Conroy's breath ran out of his mouth and up to the sky as he looked on. He attempted to call out to her, but the cold gripped his throught like a vice though. Which only left him with qestions running through his mind like,
"Where are her parents?"
"How did she get out here?"
"Why would anyone be out here?"
"Well I came out here, and that's proving to be a wise decision, good job Conroy!"
While Conroy struggled with himself about how he came out here, he didn't even see the little girl staring at him.
And as a new gale blew throw the woods wraking Conroy's body with violent shakes, she smiled.
