PMS stands for PreMenstrual Syndrome. For your first couple periods you will most likely not have many cramps or mood swings or food craving at all during your period, but PMS starts even a little bit later than that usually. Some girls don't get it at all, but that's unlikely. PMS happens before your period (hence the pre) and goes until you get it (of course you still have the mood swings while on your period, but it's not pre anymore). PMS varies on when it starts from women to women, but the effects are mostly the same. Mood swings, sometimes cramps, and more mood swings. My advice? Try not to rip everyone's head off and start wearing liners so you're not unprepared when it comes. You can't prevent it (unless your parents allow you to take hormone pills like I do) so just try to hang in there. We're all girls here and we understand if you need to talk.

As always, questions welcome! Stay classy my friends!
