The Girl in the Mirror

Whenever I look in the mirror,

I have to stare at the face staring back.

I doubt her, the girl in the mirror,

I doubt her worth, who she is, who she will be.

But then I am reminded of who she really is.

She is a princess, daughter of a king,

Living in a world of brothers and sisters,

Who are the same.

She was made by the one true God,

As were they, those who've come, and those who've gone.

She is special, worth more than every diamond,

Worth more than anything on this earth.

She is beautiful, beyond compare,

Society has no say on that.

She is strong, a brick wall,

Because The Lord has given her strength.

She is brave as a lion,

For she knows she is safe,

Jesus is always there.

She is human,

She makes mistakes and messes up,

But even if the world doesn't agree,

She is already forgiven.

She doesn't need the world to love her,

As long as God loves her, she will be content.

So I smile at the face in the mirror,

And she's smiles back.

And at that moment I realize,

She is me and will always be.
